Hi, I am looking to add to my sewing room! I have a PC8200 and
think its wonderful but feel the need for another machine (can't have
too many). I am looking for an 8500, 2001 or 2002 - Disney not
important - price is very important! What do you think a good
price would be for one of these machines. I already have the PE
Design 5 so just need machine and its accessories. If you have a

How about a machine that has been used at a sewing show. They sell them at a discount price after the embroidery show. Also have you checked with authorized Brother dealers online? Sometimes you can get a machine new for the same price people are trying to sell their machines for on some of the second hand selling places. I have a ULT machine, and from what I have seen of my friends machines and problems that many have with their 2001 machines, I would stay away from them. Carol

Not all ULT2001 have troubles. Brother knows of the needle bar problem, and from what I've experienced, they are replacing them with out any hassles. Mine wasn't giving me trouble, but when I had my machine in for regular service, my dealer went ahead and fixed it so I wouldn't have troubles just in case.

My 2001 runs an average of 6 hours a night, 7 days a week. I've not had any trouble with it other than needed the regular maintenance.
