Paper Pieced Quilting for ann

hi ann
forgot to mention that when you're finished with the block you remove the paper from the back of the material. this can be done before or after you piece the whole top together. i prefer to remove the paper after the top is together.

Paper Pieced Quilting for ann

hi ann
not a dumb question at all. i hope that i'm able to explain this where it's understood.

you have a piece of paper that has a quilt block design on it that each section is usually numbered (i've usually printed them off the computer), you place your 1st fabric on the back side of the printed paper right side up (enough fabric so that it covers more than 1/4" of the area that you're trying to cover), the 2nd piece of fabric is bigger than the area that you're trying to cover but is place right side down and pinned, making sure that when the time comes for you to flip that there is enough fabric to cover that area of the block. you take that to your sewing machine and sew along the line of the paper that is going to join the 1st and 2nd piece together (you are stitching the fabric to the paper), cut 1/4" from your sewn line, iron and flip the fabric where it's right side up. you continue to do this until the block is done. i've found that it's a good idea just to leave the extra fabric you have on each section until you come to the place of sewing and
flipping. the really nice thing about this method is that you don't have to have perfect pieces of fabric as you will be cutting it off after you sew. it's also nice when doing the miniature quilts as you don't have to have big pieces of fabric. if you will it's like quilting by numbers just like painting by numbers is sort of but that you need to go in numerical order for your block to turn out correctly.

i've seen where this method is done with the more complicated quilt blocks and miniature quilt blocks

About two years ago I downloaded a free floral wreath design that

had the alphabet (all in cross stitch). If you look at my photos,
in

design.

Trying to keep long story short..... Back then I put all my
embroidery
designs, free and ones I had paid for online, that were on my

onto a R/W CD so I could add to the CD accordingly. Went to Ireland
last year, on my return, found the CD was nowhere to be found.
(All I
can think of is that my 'lovely' son decided he desperately needed
a
CD and took that one). The only reason I have the 'B' is that I had
that on the memory card for my machine. Now I wish I had put the
whole alphabet and wreath on the memory card. I guess we live and
learn!

I am hoping that someone may know what site I may have got the
design
from and I will be able to download it again. I have searched to
some
degree without success. I fear it is no longer available.

Update on baby Gavin

Hi All,
As of yesterday our little Gavin was doing better. I went over to Wichita and took his Mom out to eat. She had not been out of the hospital since Tue. or even out of his room more that a few min. She said they had taken the feeding tube out so she felt she could leave for a bit. It's great she could stay in the room with him. They would bring her a tray so she did not even have to leave to go eat, but you can also get pretty tired of hospital food after a few days.
Anyway, thank you all so much for prayers, keep them up as he is not well yet. He will be just 6 weeks old tomorrow.

Maida

Re: I Lost A Group-Gloria

I would like to thank everyone for their advice. I am on individual
or digest on all my groups.

I emailed the owner twice. Once asking if I could find out what I
supposedly did and try to rectify the situation. Then when I got no
answer but there was a post of 4 reasons for banning someone and none
of them applied to me I sent another email saying that I did not do
any of those 4 things. I still have not heard any response.

I was a member of that group for a LONG time and thought I deserved
just the smallest bit of human respect with an explanation. If they
would have told me that I did something wrong I would have been the
first to own up to it. I think their silence speaks volumes and maybe
they don't like to admit to their mistakes so they stay silent
instead of saying "Hey I screwed up and I will fix it".

I was crushed at first because I had never been banned before but I
have finally come to realize that I don't need people like that in my
life and I was not going to allow them to "mess with my reality" LOL
and it is their loss because I will no longer buy from them or
promote them and I'm sure that I am not the only one this has
happened to so that is more business they have lost.

Precious Hugs
Gloria

I'm looking for a realistic Sailfish design. Hopefully a single design.
My Hubby wants me to put one on the back of a shirt for him. I just
can't locate a really nice one, any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Pesky Church Mice

I just installed my pe design software and it works great.

Try these links first though - It might save you some major frustrations.

Read this link for info on the Vista compatibility. The existing software appears to be OK in compatibility mode but you need to use this full version of 5.61 I talked about plus the new driver. The install order sounds strange to me but do try it and let me know.

Thanks to Early Irwin because I was directed to this by him (or her which ever is the case) LOL

Can't help with Designer Gallery. Sorry about that.

Hope this helps.

Stop by and say hi anytime, those pesky mice and I love the company.

I was glad to know about it and I spend more time on the computer than
watching TV - I also have a compromised immune system and tossed my peanut

Re: OT: Peanut Butter Recall

I'm afraid after four days of reading about the peanut butter recall I'm
going to have to agree that I'm tired of it. It's fine for the first day to
try to inform others, but I really don't want to hear dozens of posts about
oh, yeah, I've got that in my cupboard" , or "so and so's kids got sick from
it". The initial notice is fine, but I think it should stop there. This is
for embroidery and the occasional good intentions post, but why all the
useless reponses to the original post? I have been doing more deleting than
reading for several days now, and I'm on the digest, sure would hate to be
on individual postings.

have known. If someone doesn't want to read the message there is a delete
