Last fall someone put out a set of delicate FSL Christmas ornament designs.
They looked like they were hand done crochet. Bells Santa face, snowflakes
etc I think there was about 6 designs or so in the set. I have racked my
brain trying to figure out who has them. Any suggestions would be helpful

Re: OT: Save all your important computer data FREE - from Ila Turner

Mary Lou

I must agree.. I've crashed my computer.. on the average of 3 times
per year.. I's just me.. OMG you may say.. Well, I have 6 hard
drives, yes 6!.. I ended up purchasing a new drive the 2nd time my
computer crashed - got my computer up and running with the new one,
and added the second one..

... But, a word to the wise!

DO NOT LEAVE your external drives on all the time. I know from
experiance that, they only have about 4 to 5 years of life if they
are constantly left on!

My external back up crashed this year and I was lucky enough to find
a place in town that saved about 95% of the data on the drive. It
took about 2 weeks as he does stay backed up.. I purchsed a new drive
for him to move the designs and ALL the information to.

I then copied it to another drive that is on the shelf in a static
free bag. Now when I complete a set, I burn that 1 set to a CD. If
CD's are kept safe in a envlope, they can almost last almost forever..

Nothing lasts for ever.. One other thing, when burned to a CD. The
perminent date of the design stays with the item. Then you can place
them in a filing cabinet alphabetly and the only thing you have to
look for is that one cd.

Everyone has their own methods.

In my digitizing computer, which is no longer attached to the
internet, I run 2 hard drives, one for the operating program, another
for file back ups. This works so much better as there are no
threats, and If i need upgrades, I just connect for a couple moments,
down load, and disconnect.

Your idea may be good for someone with very few
designs, but I figure most people are like me in that
their own time is worth more than the cost of backup
supplies.

My goodness, if you can afford the machine and all the
embroidery supplies, surely you can afford backup supplies!

Charming New Set: Lil Bears

charmingstation

Dear Embroidery Friends,
We found the most charming new graphics and thought you might enjoy
these darling Lil Bears. These remind me of the old fashioned roly poly
teddy bears we had as youngsters (long before they all had names and
contracts with Disney or Nicklelodian!).

As with most of our sets, this set is quilter friendly with 12 instead
of just 7 or 10 designs. We've already added one to a baby jacket for
our Matthew. The artwork for this set comes from digiwebstudio.com
<> . Isn't it fun to try a slightly
different look!

Please click here to see the whole set

Don't forget to get your free snowman (#61!) and see our featured set of
the week. You will find a link to each of these on our home page.

We hope you have a great week. Stop by if you get a chance.

ad: *NEW* "Exotic Flower" designs + Sample + Tip

Carolyn Faulk

These decorative, imaginary flowers are the perfect touch for clothing, linens, totes, etc. There are a 12 different flowers in the set, PLUS one sample to download. All the flowers fit the 4x4 hoop. I sewed 3 different flowers onto a yellow knit shirt, which is shown on the site. (I used the same color scheme that I chose for all 3 flowers when I sewed them out)
(part way down the page)
The* sample to download is at the bottom of the page.
I hope you will enjoy your visit to my site.
-----TIP-----
Many floral designs can be arranged in a circular manner to create a wreath look. If you have software (or machines) that allow you to bring in more than one design, it can be fun to choose a variety of designs to nestle close to each other (at various angles) to create the wreath. Adding in some berry designs can also make the arrangement look rich. If you don't digitize, use your creative talents to use the designs you have to make your own special arrangements. The more you experiment, the more fun you can have. You can also do the same type of thing by printing out templates of individual designs and sew them out one at a time to make the wreath, (using the templates to get the proper alignment) if your machine is limited to a 4x4 hoop.

has been hanging around 102+. I went and had 19 blood tests this week.
Last week, I had 17 blood tests and apparently I either flunked the tests or
the vampires like my blood so much, that they wanted more. I am also taking
oxycodone around the clock. It is making me really out of it. I know you
are saying I was out of it, without any medication. I am also on a new
heart medication. It is suppose to slow my heart down, but it is slowing
everything down. I get to come off of it on Friday. Thursday, I am having
surgery. I will be coming home on Friday. I have had this surgery several
times, but this time they are doing it in the OR instead of the GI clinic.
They are going to stretch my esophagus and take some tissues. Tomorrow, I
have a bone scan and ultrasound of my liver. My liver functions tests are
failing badly and I studied so hard for those tests. The breast cancer
issue has resurfaced. I will be having a biopsy soon. I have some mail to
thank people for. I am sorry for neglecting my own group. I also
appreciate all of your prayers.

Re: OT: Save all your important computer data FREE - from Ila Turner

Jody Baron

It was just a suggestion. You must remember people who do machine embroidery are from all different economic backgrounds (there are cheap embroidery machines). I personally like reading other peoples ideas of saving files, organizing files, etc. I have 2 backup copies of my files, with 1 being in my safe. But there again not everyone has a medium size fire proof, bullet proof save in their house. Some ideas I use some I don't but that's what the delete key is for. That what the groups are about. Let's keep exchanging ideas.

My time is worth more to me than spending it on all
those emails you suggest in order to back up designs,
and having to sign into so many accounts to keep them
active. Some ladies might not know that some email
addresses delete everything if you don't sign in often
enough.

A few CDs, thumb drives, an extra hard drive, or
whatever a person needs is not that expensive. They
are always on sale somewhere.

My bank lock box is much safer than even my house for
the backups, and I keep other things in it anyway, so
it's no extra cost.

Besides, I once had an Excite.com email that I was
keeping important informational articles in. They
changed ownership of the company and I lost all my
emails!

Your idea may be good for someone with very few
designs, but I figure most people are like me in that
their own time is worth more than the cost of backup
supplies.

My goodness, if you can afford the machine and all the
