Stablizing question
Hi,
I'm embroidering a 3 letter monogram on a set of towels and I read some instructions that said to use a cut away stablizer. I usually use a tear away on towels but I've never done a monogram before and these are a gift and I want to make sure they embroider and wash up nicely. Can anyone advice me on the proper way to stablize for this project. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you Patty A. |

It's Bluebonnets Y'all!
Sonia Showalter
Well, I must say that I am more thrilled than usual :0) to announce the release of my newest
floral pin. It's Bluebonnets! Of course you don't have to make a pin. I have included several files so you will have some options. You can stitch the stems to your project and then add the petals and leaves or make the whole thing as a free standing design then attach to a project or make into a pin. These are so gorgeous, if I do say so myself! Pictorial directions are included to put the flowers together. I hope you like the directions, I think they took me as long to create as the design itself. LOL Find this design and other recent releases on this page: Other floral pins are on this page: Blessings to all, Sonia Showalter Old World Nativity |

<<<<Pity we cannot have a
List of sites, that do auto digitising. Just I feel that auto Digitisers are bring down the quality of the designs out there, even if They are free>>> I think this is rude and uncalled for. How do you know if they are of poor quaility or that more than one person hasn't been working on these? Glenna |
Re: 73 new designs are up
Connie
Glen,
Really? thats all you can do? for real? wow! Connie and I both digitize about 16 hours a day 6 days a week, this is when the kids do their schoolwork, and the farm is in its own good course. and we put out around 20 designs a day between us. This is of course, we have GOOD artwork, the computers are both working good, the emails are down, the members area of the site is running smoothly, and her mom is not in the hospital. Here are a few tips, for those just starting out in the field. Use Embird for digitizing (AWESOME PROGRAM, and CHEAP), AND Buzzedit for grabbing those "loose threads" that never seem to be their in Embird, but always show up in the least areas you expect it. ( there are a very few times a loose thread will wind up going "somewhere", and Buzzedit is GREAT for those times) NEVER, EVER use an autodigitizing program if you can stop from it. I have found from personal expierance that they are more difficult to use then they are worth. (just my PERSONAL opinion) no, we dont use them, ALL our designs are manulally punched so they come out right the first time. Some people do, however, I never did get the hang of it, nor did Connie, so we decided to leave them aloone, and do it correctly the first time. Dont use someone to make a website that is in another country, (they are NEVER awake when it goes down)go to a GOOD website host for your site, and get MORE then enough bandwidth because when you hit 3,000,000 + hits a month you will need it. (we average around 3.5 million hits a month now, and use over 150 gigs a month in bandwidth) Always, always get GOOD pictures, or scans of your work, and make very sure you put them up in a couple of sizes on your website. be expecting others to "hit you" when you start to grow, its normal, and its expensive. learn to just let it go, it will eat you up if you don't. And above all, in everything you do, do it good, and do it right the first time. If you put up bad designs, nobody will come back. I hope this helps those of you just starting out in the field, when we started there were very few who would help answer questions. if anyone wants to know anything else, just email me, I will be glad to answer your questions. where to get a good webiste made, hosted, how to get your site up in the search engines, etc. Bart Perry Dollarstitch.com dollarstitch@... --- In HookedOnEmbroidery@..., "Glenn" <digitiser@...> wrote:

Preparation H thanks Ruth
John Cook
While Patience had what I WANTED to know, I guess Ruth had what I NEEDED to know. I guess I will just have to make due with wrinkles. Denise
please don't use preparation H under your eyes. the skin under your eyes is very thin and this will damage the tissue after several uses. i am a wound nurse. this takes special training and education beyond a BS in nursing. i have several patients who burned the skin tissue under the eyes by using preparation H. if you truly want to remove wrinkles the best treatment is dermectin or strivecta these are stretch mark repair and intensive wrinkle reduction creme. these have been tested and will not harm the skin, but acutually improve the skins texture and improve the surface of the skin. strivecta is sold at most drug stores as is dermectin. the patients who have used the prep h one had to skin graft, while the other two were treated like burn victims. due to loss of skin tissue. they all used the ointment (vaseline) type of gel. while its great for the area of anatomy that it was designed for it is not great for usage any place else.this is an old wifes tale. so safe your skin and your money. ruth, rn,bsn,ms,wt,ivp,C,hhcm |
Re: 73 new designs are up
Glenn, they are not auto digitized, my husband and I BOTH digitize and they are manually punched. You should check before you post something like that.

She also said she used the cream version and nothing happened. This is EXACTLY what I wanted to know. Preparation H makes at least four different types of applicable substances and I didn't want to have to go through the expense of having to purchase all of them to see what works. Could you see me walking to the cash register, my arms full of every form of Prep H that they make? Can you imagine what the clerk would think? Time consuming, but simple enough. I went thru GoDaddy.com got my domain and hosting. Then I bought Dreamweaver 8, which is a program to make your web pages without needing to know all the codes, very easy. I also bought the "web sites for Dummies" book, that I thought was pure genius on my part! I hooked up with paypal for shopping cart and can take payment w/CC# there. Like I said it took time, but do-able. Can't answer # 4 because its out of order and I haven't gotten that far in the book.
