Re: Embroidering on cardstock

Hi Kat:

Yes, ideally you should use a design that is specifically digitized for
cardstock to get best results. If you have troubles like Betty did,
check to make sure that you're using a sharp size 11 needle, and a
good-quality cardstock. If you're using a low-quality cardstock with
short fibers, or a large or ballpoint needle, then you'll see tears/rips
rather than small needle perforations in the card.

I tired it a long time ago...I used a design specially made for
stitching
on card and still found it split the card

Hello Everyone,

I have a question about making cards. Has anyone embroidered on
cardstock? Do you have to use official designs made for cards or will
any design work? Thanks. Kat

I made all of my Christmas cards this year, I stitched directly on
the card stock. I used a white card, printed my greeting, then
stitched a pretty redwork candle. For stabilizer, I used a light
tearaway on some, others I used some plastic wrap. The plastic wrap
was easiest to remove except in the tiny areas and I just left it
there in most of them. I think they both worked fine, I used the
same thread in the bobbin, so it looked the same on top and bottom. I
received lots of compliments on the cards. You really don't want to
use a heavy design. Experiment a little, it is easy and fun. SandyM

Re: Applique on sweatshirts

I didn't hoop it. You can baste the shirt to the stabilizer or just use
pins. That's what I did. Just be very careful when you remove the hoop and
trim the fabric. You will need to be sure you don't cut the shirt when you
trim the applique fabric, but the results are worth it. I did 6 for teenage
girls for Christmas and they were really excited about them.

Hope that helps

I hope somebody can help me with this. I received some machine

spray adhesive to hold it onto the stabilizer. Because with applique
you have to remove the hoope and cut how do you do that with a
sweatshirt? Please help.

Re: PED Basic

My friend had trouble looking at a few designs on PED BASIC(same message new
sew data) but she pulled the design up in Embird and resaved it and then it
worked looking at it in the PED Basic program. Don't know what it fixed but
that is how she always got it working on those designs.

Re: Recent - Wal-Mart Newz

Judy

I also spoke to aa associate in the fabric department at our local Wal-
Mart Super Center. She said that the fabric would NOT be closed. This
decision was made because of popular demand (e-mails?). However some
changes would be made in the types of fabrics that will be sold. High
end fabrics such as wools and suitings would be discontinued. Average
crafting and quilting fabrics and the dollar per yard would still be
carried. Good going sewers!!! Have a great day stitching!!!

Re: Help; problem with thread trimmer

Rick

Teresa:

I have an Babylock EMP6 (same machine). Here's the order your knives
should go back together. This is the left knife (moveable). If you have
a thin washer (not all do), it goes down 1st. There's a spacer that
fits inside the knife. The knife & spacer go down as a unit, then the
screw. The screw has a raised edge. It needs to fit inside the spacer.
I usually wiggle the knife a bit to insure the screw goes into the
spacer. Before installing the screw, add a couple drops of your machine
oil to the moveable knife area. On the right knife (fixed knife). It
goes curled edge down. Make sure it's up against that small roll pin
sticking up. The left knife goes UNDER the right knife.
There's a great Yahoo group of owners. Contact me and I'll send you an
invite.
