JUDITH

Laura, staying home with my sons is the biggest regret of my life..I had no choice. The older they got and more active in after school activities I missed a lot of that part of their life not being there..Good for you Annie

LAST TWO DAYS!

Hello Friends!
December has been a flurry of activity... getting ready for the
holidays, sewing up a storm, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning for visits
from relatives, a mixture of pleasure, exhaustion and pain
(especially in the pocketbook! LOL)

The New Year is right around the corner... a time of reflection,
resolution, and hope for a bright, safe, and happy future. With all
the natural and unnatural disasters crowding in around us in the
news, it is sometimes hard to see the bright side of life. But with
faith, perserverence and love, we can face the future and strive for
a better world once again.

I want to wish each and every one of you the best of yesterday and
the best of tomorrow. As we fix our eyes on the future, unwavering
from the goal of making our friends and neighbors lives a little
more pleasant, a little more friendly, a little more helpful, a
little more free of worry and care, we will find ourselves in the
middle of the higher road we've chosen, on our journey to our higher
ground, as a little better human beings for the effort put forth to
bless others. We truly do get back what we give out, so make sure
you treat others right!!!

Well, anyway, Happy New Year!!

And visit our fantastic designers at OPW Mall one more time in 2004
to take advantage of the multitude of specials and great designs
offered to you. Most specials will end Dec. 31st at midnight.
-->

Also, the MOC has been updated with brand new samples for you and a
new mystery design. (those who found December's mystery design will
receive their bonus on Dec. 31st, so watch for it!!)
-->

Visit us soon!!!
Hugs and Blessings ALWAYS! <>< Jackie

Re: in search of "Angel designs"

Dee

May,

I am not too sure exactly what you have in mind. Take a look at:

Ashley Embroidery has three beautiful angels in 5 x 7 size. If you
look closely you can see that Faith, Hope and Love is written in
their dresses.
For smaller angel designs there is Angel Pack I and You're an Angel
plus a freebie at:

THANK YOU FOR THE PHONES

Thank you wonderful ladies I got several phones to work with now. You all have been very gracious and quick to repond. One of these days I'm going to learn how to use my Emfroidery Magic2 program to digitize so I can be the quick and helpful to others. It's the odd type designs that are hard to find but you all managed to find me 6 different phones. I am making my son a Bill-Memo holder as he seams to lose his ultilitiy bills all the time. I will post picture as soon as I finish it.

Re: Organizing Designs

I use designers gallery to catalog the designs, I download them with Design Toolbar and once a month I burn a CD with the folders that are created by Design Toolbar with name of the web address. I then use Designer Gallery to catalog. It keeps track of the CD name/month and when I look through the catalog which is categorized, and find say and old world Santa, it tells me it's on say CD 10/www.sistitches.com folder.
So I can just go get it. So easy and so much better as I can have that little old Santa in several categories without ever having him on anything other that the CD I burned. Like Christmas, Santa, Old World, Purchased, what ever I want and if I decide to not have him there I just remove him from the category. Really the tools out there are just amazing and make life so simple.

I don't know how others organize their designs, but I needed it
to be simple. I use cd's with the following labels:
Christmas/Winter; Children; Fall/Harvest/Halloween; Spring/Summer;

Re: What do you embroider on most often?

so far most of what i've embroidered on is
clothing.....grandkids shirts, a photography vest i
mad for hubby for christmas, blankets. what i'm
looking to do this year (i hope, i hope, i hope) is to
make new linen doilies for my livingroom. i am
needing to get up to speed on design placement as i
want the linen to remain intact in the middle with the
designs on the border of the fabric.

Re: 14 years ago in Okla.

for the last few days i've been reading about all of
you in okla. it's been fun reading the stories as i
was born okla city and grew up in del city. i have to
say that i don't miss the area, however i do miss the
friendly people. married my husband who at the time
was in the air force and i lived about 2 miles from
tinker afb. we were married for 2 months before he
got transfered to california. we've been married for
almost 30 years now. i now live in washington state
and i love it up here. we however are looking to move
to a less conjested area as we live north of seattle.
i know that i will be looking closely at where the
joann's is and so that i can get to my sewing machine
dealer in a somewhat reasonable amount of time. lol
they're my home away from home.

We moved back and forth from the OKC

decided that I wanted my kids to grow up where I
didn't have to worry about so many things
interferring. DH #2 hates the city, and the only
time I
can get him up there is if one of us has a dr.s
appointment. :o( I do miss the shopping, as we
don't have any fabric stores in the town that is
closest to us. Every chance I get I am up there to
go to Jo-Ann's and pick up beuaty supplies at
Sally's.

Re: Organizational Help needed

i too have a bit of an addiction of designs. i hope i
can explain this so that it's understood. i tend to
be an organized nut so it might seem a bit to much.

this is what i do: i have created folders on the hard
drive, example: i would name and number the embroidery
cd (so i can keep all the cd's straight) christmas
(would be one of the man folders under embroidery),
then i have seperate folders under this one, example:
one for trees, one for ornaments and so forth. they
are burned onto a cd. when looking for a christmas
tree design i would go to one of my cd's put it into
the cd drive. i have amazing box software, i pull it
up on the computer, go to a box that allows me to
click on for my cd drive, another box pulls up with
all my folders on that cd, i go to the christmas
folder and then under the christmas folder i would go
to the trees folder. what it does at that point is
show all the designs in picture form so i can choose
which ones i want to stitch out. i can then download
those designs for the card that goes to my machine.

i created all these folders as i didn't want to be
hunting through all the christmas designs (for
example) looking just for trees.

i also like working with the amazing box as i've
gotten wonderful deals that were on other memory
cards than what i use for my machine. i can put these
other cards into the box and transfer them onto the
memory card for my machine.

hope i didn't confuse you to much.
