Re: Basting in the hoop

Hi, Was wondering what kind of stabilizer do you use
on t-shirts, I have trouble with dense designs
puckering. Thank You, Virginia In Illinois

always use a spritz of adhesive spray so that the

sew out

Try to download by yourself first and if it doesn't work after a couple of tries email Venus or myself personnaly with just the word lesson in the subject line and we will send it directly to you...
?
OK you all remember not to post to the list so that we don't clog it up and send the emails directly to us and we will all enjoy and talk about the lessons on the group faster...
?
good day to you all and here are the emails

Re: from your group mom /please read!!

Dear Miems,

Such a wonderful e-mail. My daughter died about 4 years ago and my
son-in-law gave me her machine. It got me back into sewing after 20
years away from it and introduced me to machine embroidery. What a
trip!! It has been and still is such wonderful therapy and, through
the different lists, I have met some wonderful, caring people.
Usually when list-wars break out, I try to ignore it and just skim
over those e-mails (I'm on digest.)

Your designs were some of the earliest that I downloaded. I enjoy
your work, but also your calm, caring personality that comes through
in your e-mails. Thanks for this list and also for sharing so many
of your wonderful designs.

My dear friends. I find it necessary to tell you a liitle more
about
me. My name is Miems and I live in a small town called Vryheid in
the

and
were all my life in the sewing business. When my husband died
after a
marriage of 22 years I was completely lost and my creativity
reached
a dead piont. Then after 2 years I met my new husband who also
lost
his wife after a marriage of 28 years. He inspired me to take up
my
interrest in sewing again. I used to have a sewing school but did
not
feel goiing back to that and as I was wondering where to start I
bought my first Deco 600 embroidery machine. Soon after that he
bought me a 3 head Brother Industrial embroidery machine cause I
was
lucky enough to get a large contract with a hospital group.
Needless
to say after no time I was completely hooked. I started digitizing
6
years ago and open my first website 3 years ago with my daughter
Daleen. The name Hooked On Embroidery came from the music Hooked
On
Classics. I used to listen to it when I had to run my industrial
machine 24 hours a day. By now I own all the Hooked On Classics
CD's,
and am still crazy about the music. The need grow to give back to
live and that is why I started this group. I know how lonely you
can
get and how much you hurt when you lost a child a friend or a
husband. I decide to start a group where we not only share our
knowledge with each other but where we also share our tears and
laughter. To compliment one another on their work and to help
those
who wants to learn the art of digitizing.

Carol here are two possibilities.

Venus

?

Problem: You get two copies of every post.
Solution:
This occurs if you are subscribed under multiple addresses. For example, your email address might be joe@.... However, the server that your ISP uses may be called fred. If so, then joe@... is also a valid address and you will get email sent to that address as well. You might be subscribed to?Hooked On Embroidery?under both addresses. The same thing can happen if you changed your ISP recently and the old one is forwarding the mail to your new address. As such, if you are still subscribed under your old address and your new address is joe@..., then you will get two of everything.

Problem: You get two copies of some posts, but not all.
Solution:
Generally, this happens when someone replies to your post and copies both yourself and?Hooked On Embroidery?into the address field. If the problem persists, you may wan't to ask the person not to do that.

I just went to a beading class and the instructor gave us pieces of an old Vellux blanket she had cut into squares.? It held the beads so they didn't roll around but they set on top of it so you could easily pick up the beads with your needle.? Talk about recycling!

Dear Everyone,
If you buy the kind that does not have the holes, and you are a beader, it is great to put on a tray ( the kind of tray you serve on - the ones with a lip. I use the tray that come with makeup that they sell usually around Christmas).? I use this tray to bead on?when I am in front of the tv. Nothing moves and I can get up from my chair without beads going every which way.? I had originally bought the one with the holes and the beads went down those holes !? Now I can use this liner for my embroidery.? Thanks everyone.
Susan

If I am seeing the pictures correctly, the gripper material is also on the bottom of the hoop.? Does this cause any problems with the moving?? I am worried that the Gripper material would make the hoop itself non-slip.

Mail me a graphic of what you want and I'll make a monkey pocket topper
for next friday's freebie. Just make sure the art work is not copyright
protected.

God Bless

Is there such an animal on the internet? I am in need of
one if anyone knows of one.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the offer. I promised a galfriend of mine I
would help her search for such a design and then send

Home Based Embroidery Business

rjs_19550

Good evening everyone,
I realize that this is an off the basic subject of embroidery as
we know it on the group list, but, I'm currently taking a summer
condenced course of Business/Management/Entrepreneurship (never again-
way too much to learn and study in a very short amount of time) and
have the horrendous homework assignment of developing a Business Plan
for an Home Based Embroidery Business and I'm having trouble locating
a sample or anything remotely close to it anywhere. I was hoping that
there would be someone out there in embroidery land, that could
assist me with this endeavor. If so, I would be ever so greatful!
Hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you, Robin
