Re: Things the Bug me...

Now, that would bother me also.

Re: Things the Bug me...

What do you think of this one--- My niece made a beautiful scripture
quilt for her new daughter-in-law's mother. It took her two years
to gather the themed material and scripture panels. It took several
months to make the quilt, and assemble it and machine quilt it. She
told the recipient it was a labor of love, and she hoped it would be
well used. This week she got a call from the lady, asking if she
would mind if the quilt was put in the coffin of her sister's mother-
in-law!!! The deceased lady often complained of being cold.
My poor niece was struck speechless. Now, that's REALLY "putting
something away"
Hugs,
Caroline

Hi Connie: What program do you use to digitize? I am just curious.

Thanks.

I have to differ with you, cheap doesn't always mean cheap quality,
our designs are very low cost, but we have them tested by 3 or 4
people to make sure they are very good designs before we release
them. I respect your opinion, but it's not fact. We (my husband and
I) normally can put out 30 to 40 designs a week, I have over 20
testers and when all goes well, (which it hasn't this week) but
normally we can put out designs pretty fast and they are not auto
digitized. (my personal opinion is auto digitzed designs are junk)
but again that is my opinion. We sell afordable designs, but they
sure are not cheaply done.

Re: hi lib

My husband got his masters from UNH. I love NH. It's such a beautiful state - but cold, cold, cold in the winter! We lived in Durham when he was at UNH.

Freebie Hunter

Dixie West

I am not sure I am a "freebie hunter" but I do check them out to see
if it is something I can use. I do charity sewing for babies, so I am
always looking for something suitable for them, but I do not download
every freebie just because it is there. Being on limited income, I am
truly grateful for those that do share and try to be respectful of
that. I also purchase patterns when I can - believe me there are MANY
I would like to have, just the budget doesn't allow. I can see both
sides of this situation and, if I were on the other end, and didn't
want people to have the freebie, I would not make it available.

Ok, now back to lurking.

Thankyou so much for everyones help on the school bus designs, I have more than enough to keep me busy and some to come back to a little later. I appreciate everybody's time and effort. The response was amazing and so are all of you......Jana Sue In Ks:)

Re: Things the Bug me...

It bugs me, too, when I give someone something & they say it's too pretty to use. So, now when I give them something & get that response, I tell them if they ever want anything else, they'd better use it, or I'll give it to someone who will use it next time! I tell them there's no reason to keep on making stuff if no one will use it. This has worked fairly well! lol

Re: Just thinking

Check for a read it file with the design. Sometimes
there is a file that tells the name of the digitizer
and where they can be found. Not always, but many
times there is. It looks like a little spiral note
pad.

Re: about freebie hunters!!!

Ursula Lamb

Min, yes, I do agree with you that there are some REAL appreciaters of freebies out there, since I sell on OPW mine are always part of the MOC (Members Only Club) and they are FULL DESIGNS. What I mean is: the original freebie used to be a small part of a design for the client to download in order to test quality etc. Now, with many malls and digitizers offering full designs for free you get "FreebieHunters" more ofteh than not. But, as far as I am concerned, those with a small budget have a chance to be part of the world of embroidery as well that way..... so, as a digitizer I do like to also contribute towards those not so fortunate.

I don't know if these would work for your needs, but I have some Koi
designs on this page of my site:

(I used some purchased hand-dyed fabric for the applique version. Loved
the colorations.)

Can anyone tell me where i can find designs of Koi please? I have
searched Emb Library but are there any others out there?
thanks

Re: about freebie hunters!!!

Margarett

After purchasing some new designs from a particular designer last week, I went to her/his Yahoo group and asked to join. I received the message that I had been banned for life. Evidently, I had at one time joined the group, then unsubbed for some reason. Banned for life? Suits me. I've banned this designer from my pocket book for life, too. Problem solved.

One thought might be to either describe it really well or post a
picture in the photos section of the stitched design, directing folks
to where the photo is in there, some of us that have been around a
little longer (and some ALOT longer, LOL) might recognize it and be
able to point you in the right direction.
