I agree with you 100% Linda. It seems all people want nowadays is
free, free, free, or cheap, cheap, cheap. You can tell those groups
that give away tons of free designs. They have the highest
membership. Do you think 1/2 of those members would be there if the
owner didn't give away free, free, free? I highly doubt it!

I have been to some of those groups and have downloaded some of the
free ones. After stitching them out, I unsubbed myself and took them
off my list to check out their website. I can't believe that some of
these so-called digitizers even sell anything.

I recently also downloaded a free set being given away during this
month. I opened 1 design and noticed it had 23 color changes! LOL
I had to chuckle. I also compared the actual stitchout to the
picture of the design. It looked nothing like the picture and that's
why it bugs me that digitizers don't use actual scanned images.

Someone said that not all digitizers have a scanner or digital
camera. I don't believe that should be an excuse. Scanners can be
bought for less than $50. I want to see what a design looks like (in
real life) before I am going to purchase anything. The digitizers
who use the generated images from the programs they are using are
just trying to fool everybody.

I could go on and on, but have said enough I guess. I have decided
that I will only download a free design to check out the digitizer's
work and only for those I am considering to buy.

You can almost tell immediately those that pump out a new collection
every few days that they are using auto-digitizing programs. I don't
call this digitizing. And maybe that's why they sell them so cheap.
Yes, cheap. And cheap is what the final product looks like.

never acknowledged my posts to her and then berated me when I had a
legitimate reason for wanting to come back. I even promised not to
download
any of her free designs. I understand that the digitizers use their yahoo
groups as a way of advertising their site. However, there is a big
difference between being banned for life when you know you have a choice
of
going special mail or no mail and being nasty to people. Some groups will
not let you go special notice or no mail. I will never sew out or buy
anything from that individual.

Hi Lydia,

A group owner has the right to run their group any way they feel fit.
They are not here for your convenience, you are here for theirs and most put in
a lot of long hours to read every mailing that comes in when it is a moderated group.
I'm not an owner of any group, nor do I sell any designs but I've been
around for a long time now and I've seen what goes on.
Maybe the lesson here is that ALL NEW MEMBERS should read the
information that is sent out to them when they join and not just ASSUME
that they know everything. It is an easy trap to fall into, just like you did, and we
have to remember that every group is different and it's rules must be respected.
I've also been on other groups where you were too so just remember
that what you do in one group gets around.
As for not buying from the website owners who happen to expect you to read their
