never acknowledged my posts to her and then berated me when I had a legitimate reason for wanting to come back. I even promised not to download any of her free designs. I understand that the digitizers use their yahoo groups as a way of advertising their site. However, there is a big difference between being banned for life when you know you have a choice of going special mail or no mail and being nasty to people. Some groups will not let you go special notice or no mail. I will never sew out or buy anything from that individual. Lydia C On 1/19/07, Mary Lou <maykeg@...> wrote:

Just to help you understand - Most group owners and moderators offer
free designs that are not offered on their web site - there are so many individuals - they join... nab all they can then Unsubscribe - this is really unfair to the digitizers who work so hard to bring these free designs to all their potential customers. I know on occasion, I accidently unsubbed.. and got banned.. I wrote the list owner and explained the problem.. They allowed me to rejoin. This was one group that at the time was generating so many emails, it locked up my email account... Well that was also befor i realized that there was "Digest" and Special Notices... The owner allowed me to rejoin... and I just went special notice and check the group once and a while.. Most Owners and Moderators are pretty understanding since "WE ALL ARE HUMAN!" Just write him/her and explain... They should understand.. In re topic Unsubbing and being banned
granny_marg2000
This happened to me a few days ago. I was surfing the different web
sites in search of a particular design. When I eventually found one to suit my needs, I bought it and downloaded it immediately. So, when I found on her website that she has a Yahoo group, I thought I'd join in order to be informed when she has new designs for sale. When I tried to join, however, I got the message that I had unsubbed and been banned for life. Evidently, I had unsubbed when I was clearing out the sites I seldom used months ago and, therefore, have been banned for life. Suits me. I just won't buy from this designer ever again in my life, either. Because of her stringent rule, we both lose: she loses a customer and I lose her web site. Margarett in NC |

Not sure about this but try Embroider This.com.
Looked at too many to many sites today to say for certain. Having lots of trouble with my e-mails. Either I get 15 of the same e-mail or nothing at all. <snip> Right, I agree the person should write the owner. I see this on occassionally on groups, the infamous "No questions asked policy", which is of course a listparents choice, but I think it depends on *when* the person unsubscribes too, I mean, if a person joins and then unsubs within a short time frame, that's not good, but if a person has been with a group, even a few months, and then unsubs, there is likely a perfectly good reason. No questions asked policies arn't so hot sometimes. I save banning on my own groups for people who really deserve it (trolls, defamation, etc.) I have many interests, and am a long time list mom in various genres, guess how many I've had to ban in 5 years? two (on all of them combined). I would write the owner, and explain, if your reasons are reasonable, and they still won't lift a ban (if that is the issue) ultimately, at least IMHO you don't need a group that strict, the stress of not stepping on toes too big to avoid, isn't worth it, these groups are meant for fun and relaxation. Free Set for our Canadian Friends
ggmcbreen
Dear Embroidery Friends,
This is just a short note to let you know that we have added a free set of designs saluting the Canadian military to our site for our friends in the true north, strong and free. Our Samantha came in while I had one of the Canadian designs on my computer screen. She is just learning to read (first grade) and she read the words on the screen. Then I asked her if she knew whose flag that was and she didn't miss a beat. She replied, "Miss Nicole's". Miss Nicole is her ice skating coach and we think she is the world's best coach. Oh, and she just happens to come from Canada! These fit the 4 x 4 hoop and you can choose from PES, HUS, PCS, JEF or SEW formats. The military salute designs are also still available for our American military and for our Australian friends in case you missed our note last week. All of these are free. Please click here to download your choice. <> We hope you have a lovely weekend! Best wishes, GiGi <> |
