Re: Things That Really Bug Me - ART FORMATS.... FREE
Mary Lou, I know you can't convert to ART with this program. I tried also..but....you can convert your designs to EXP with this program and the Artista 200 will read it just fine. The only problem you will encure is the colors are funky (real bright colors) .Just go by the colors in the original format you're converting from and use a conversion chart. I just got done stitching a design that I converted from PES. No problem, looks great. I'm a happy camper!!

Hi Kathy, according to the placement guide I have, the design should
be centered 2" to 2-1/2" up from the bottom point, and centered on the front of the tie -- if worn with a vest, the design should be centered 9" to 11" above the bottom point. Hope that helps....Parker --- In HookedOnEmbroidery@..., Kathy Armstrong <crazykate4950@...> wrote: ____________________________________________________________________________________ Get your own web address. |

Re: minor embroidery problem
Nancy
The size would depend on the style of tie. the design shouldn't be any more than 1/3 to 1/2 the width of the tie and it can go any place but usually when I do it, I put the design centered about 2 inches up from the point.

formats - I can convert them into ART with no hassle at all. I don't understand what you are saying - I can use HUS, PES, DST, XXX, many more that I can't remember at the moment. Why would I complain? I have a great machine, great software, and you don't have to do a thing to sell me something in PES, I know I can use it easily, converted or not. Please be more accurate in your statements about Bernina's ART format. It certainly doesn't stop me from buying any design I desire. I'm unhappy with their torment of embroiderers who unknowingly purchase things on ebay that are illegal designs and which seems more designed to get rid of valuable independent digitizers, but I have no complaints about their products or format decisions - hasn't stopped me even once from buying in a different format and converting - and it converts marvelously! ART conversion or development is not available in most digitising software and most of us digitisetrs can't afford to fork out another $2,000 for the sole puropoose of providing ART format to customers. Because of these business decisions and policies of Bernina and their associated subsidiaries, even if I could provide ART format, I wouldn't, on principle. If enough people stand up and make a fuss, then perhaps Bernina will change their policies. If not, then they risk being shut out of the market simply because the range of support products will be too limited. It's all in Bernina's hands, I'm afraid. My advice is to for you to complain to Bernina about their restrictive policies as changing these policies and lifting the restrictions is the only thing that will make it easier for Bernina users to use what is widely available to all other sewing machine owners. OT Website Traffic question
Shell, Sparkles by Shell
I hope no one minds, but I have a question for all of you who have your own websites which sell items. I have had one for about 2 years now. How do you get traffic to your site? Right now, I only have my rhinestone clothing, jewelry, and painted paver, but will soon be adding embroidery designs within a month (I hope!)
Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated : ) Shell www.sparklesbyshell.com |
