Dear all

I¡¯m afraid I have some very sad news.
I¡¯be just received a phone call from Lou Trollope the better half of

Jack passed away in his bed on Wednesday morning.
According to Lou, he had a massive heart attack and it was all over within a couple minutes. She said he went the way he wanted to go. In his bed and quickly.

There will be no funeral, he will be cremated and his ashes returned to Lou.

He will leave a massive hole in my life, and will be sorely missed.

I¡¯m not sure what else to say

Jack, as many know, was a very creative individual when it came to micro/small layouts and many examples of that creativity can be found in the various files of this groups and the affiliated groups.? His Box Street Yard is perhaps one of the most popular micros.? Jack was also a driving force behind the creation of the original Small Layout Design Group on yahoo.? He always had interesting comments to make and he will be missed.? Our condolences go out to Lou and his family.

So Shortliner, from way up in the Highlands, RIP my friend.

Very Sad news indeed!

He was such a fine gentleman, never met him in person but we e-mailed from time to time.

RIP Jack

Having only just joined this group, this was a very sad read. I had the great pleasure of working with Jack on the original Small Layout Design Group, all those many years ago. He was indeed an inspiration, a talented modeller and an ever-so-slightly loony character.

Best wishes to all
