Re: Archer Fine Transfers and decals
Hi Dave glad to see everyone getting a stock of supplies, one thing that I am wondering about was the process of making the rivet?heads, i wonder if there is a video or something out there on how he makes them or if the moulds (if that is what he has used) would be available to sell on to someone else. Archer Fine Transfers and decals
I received another email today that Archer is so swamped with orders that they have temporarily closed their web pages. They state that they have enough inventory ("unfortunately unbagged") in their warehouse to fill all orders received? until their official close date in November.

Archer Fine Transfers and decals
Archer Fine Transfers has made rivet decals, "eye" decals as well as many other surface products. I received an email that they are closing their business. You may want to take a look at their remaining stock before they are gone.
I have no affiliation with the company. Just a satisfied user. Smitty |

Last Call For Model Railroads - Central Coast Railroad Festival (CA)
Last Call For Model Railroads - Central Coast Railroad Festival (CA) The Central Coast Railroad Festival returns this year to San Luis Obispo County and northern San Barbara County on October 7-9 (Friday-Sunday). As in past years I will organize a tour of model railroads and garden railroads. Last year we had twenty-nine railroads on the tour. This is the final call for layout owners to participate. Participating in a layout tour is a great way to share your work and meet your fellow model and garden railroaders. You’ve probably worked hard on your railroad so you might as well get some recognition from people who will appreciate your efforts. We are only asking owners to be open for four or more hours on just one day. Additional days and hours are at the owner’s option, including "early bird" showings on Thursday, October 6. And we are asking owners in Santa Maria and areas south of Santa Maria to be open only on Sunday, October 9. All you need to do is operate your trains. I will do all the planning and publicity, as I have done for sixty-one previously tours since 2006, including nine previous tours for the Central Coast Railroad Festival. This will be a free, self-guided tour. No buses will be used. If you have any questions before committing to the tour, please ask. In any event, please contact me (OFF LIST by e-mail) in the next several days if you are interested so we can add your railroad to the tour. Once you have been added to the tour, I will contact you to set your day(s) and hours. Thank you. Re: T-Trak & small layouts
While most of us think of TTrak in terms of standard “one foot” (sort of) or “one box” and “two foot” (sort of) or “two box long” modules, there is no reason you can’t make your module(s) longer or any length you like to support a home layout or an operating scheme you want.? As long as the ends conform to the standard, and your length is a multiple, any multiple, of a standard one box module, if you want to display at a train show or convention with a TTrak Group.? (The “odd” lengths and widths are because TTrak is historically based on the A4 paper format, which is the metric equivalent of our letter sized paper.? It is also based on lengths of Kato UniTrack, which is also metric.)? A few years ago I saw an amazing TTrak module in the model contest room at an NMRA Northeast Regional Convention. Here is a link to the owner’s webpage on the Little Rhody Division site: Justin Maguire, MMR, had a TTrak module based on an East Providence RI prototype that was about 4 or 5 feet long.? I was admiring his amazing diorama and finally noticed the Kato UniTrak connectors sticking out of the ends.? I certainly lack his skills, but it made me think about different possibilities with TTrak.? Consider it thinking outside the A4 sheet of paper. ? Be well, ? “John Henry” L ? ? ? ? ? ? |
