Funds for Flyer art, handling disbursement?

Hi Lily,??

Wondering if you've been able to get in touch with your journalist friend in Nepal. We just had our Mushroom Club of Georgia board meeting? and our club is ready to donate money* to help with this effort. It'd be cool if we had a foundation to send it to (how fast can that be set up?), or, I'm wondering, do you or anyone else have some thinking on how we should handle distribution of funds??

Hoping we can beat the poisonings this year,
Cornelia?

*at least $500.00

Cornelia, I cannot thank you enough for connecting with Dr. Shiva Devkota and becoming invested in the mushroom poisoning issues of Nepal. This was something that commonly came up during my work there, with explanations that more people were moving to new areas (but people move often historically), that snakes had bitten the mushrooms and therefore poisoned them (religious explanations), and others. I would love to be involved in the kind of book/zine project you mentioned, with ease of drawings/photographs to assist in identification regardless of language spoken. I have a good friend in Nepal who is a media journalist, I could contact her and ask her if she knows of artists who would be interested in the project (she is well connected to the artist community in Kathmandu). I wonder if we could put on a crowdfunding campaign to support the artist. What do you think Cornelia, and other group members?

Hi Cornelia!

I know a nonprofit you can send it through to Nepal if you would like, and I am wondering how urgent this is? Can it wait until my friend returns to service on June 10th, or shall I contact another friend connected to the art community in Nepal? I remember you saying wild mushroom season (and chances for poisoning) are approaching and I forget when Shiva Sir said this would begin.?
