Hi Sam and Cornelia Greetings?
Thank you for your support for the needs based activities. Regarding your query and other entities :
1. As I indicated in my earlier email, plz transfer amount to the Himalayan Climate and Science Institute (HCSI) account, based in Washington DC - A charity organisation working in Nepal. Rick Silber (former secretary of Mycological Club of Washington) and my colleague is Chairman of this organisation and we are working together (-cc here). He remains happy to transfer amount directly to me for this awareness programme.? Rick Silber #?+0012022551191 mobile/WhatsApp?
Lily: Plz feel free to provide other options if you have.
2. Plz, provide me the Logo (with good resolution) of yours mushrooms club to include in poster. Same applies to other interested organisations or foundations if any.?
3. Once poster's design is prepared, I'll forward for your perusal and suggestions.?
4. After the programme is over, a synopsis together with expenses details / scanned receipts will be submitted to you.?
Plz let me know in case of any.

Thank you for your thoughts Shiva Sir. Since it sounds like the club voted to create the pamphlet with an artist, it sounds like they need to discuss what they are willing to pay for. You shared with us that grant, have you not received funding for it yet? Thank you for letting us know that printing posters may be the most productive, I will let Cornelia and the club decide. I love the idea of working with the artist, but I also know that wild mushroom season is here and you already have programs underway. Cornelia and the club, what do you think?
Great work shiva sir!
Sincerely,

So, it is discussed to provide printed posters and organize awareness classes to locals / including students. Namaste all and dhanyabaad Shiva Sir for providing us with insights and pictures from your latest work.
Reading your proposal and seeing the work you have done recently to try and prevent mushroom poisonings in Nepal, what do you think the best use of the club's $500 contribution is? Since you did posters, I am wondering if you could share the poisonous and nonpoisonous mushroom communications from your posters with the artist, so that she could create a small booklet of art that communicates which mushrooms are poisonous (with her art, she can emphasize the parts of the mushrooms people look out for). What do you think? Let us know, as you are the expert in this area. Thank you for all of the good work that you do!

Hi Cornelia and colleagues, Apologies for the delay as was out of the desk for weeks. Indeed, it was nice talking with you Cornelia and thanks to Lily for establishing this connectivity.?
Meaningful artwork by Rubi ji is really fascinating and I'm sure that will bring interlinkages between science-art-society. I have a kind of feeling that we could make a project to bring a booklet bringing all her creativity on mushrooms mainly targeting rural mountain dwellers/children who could grasp messages instantly with her fineworks.
I really like the idea by Michael Yeh -Safe vs dangerous visual checklist for instant awareness purposes. I may provide several edible and poisonous mushrooms species from the Nepal Himalaya to design such posters. Thank you very much. A symbol to indicate death/danger is the same as you suggested. For the moment (depends on budget), what we could implement is:
-Posters design + printing (Waterproof). -Awareness camps to school childrens - Awareness camps to local collectors and local communities - Tie up with health professionals, hospitals, healthposts? - Establish linkages with conservation bodies (national parks, wildlife reserves) to disseminate/distribute posters to local users groups. -Radio programme in local FM stations
Plz, find project's concept (with activities, working areas, tentative budget) for the further discussion and to disseminate to generate funds if it deems necessary to share. Which we prepared last year.?
Last year, we organized two trips to most poisoning prone areas with support from the Himalayan Climate & Science Institue HCSI ()?located in the Washington DC USA. Rick Silber [ rsilber@... ] - Very nice colleague/mentor of mine and Secretary, Mycological Association of Washington, DC together with programme manager of HCSI - Liam Torpy (orpyliam@...) have provided their efforts. Should we bring synergy being together Cornelia? Liam, will be in Atlanta from June 8th-14th. He remains available if further in-person discussion together with club members is necessary. If you like, you could add Richard and Liam in our discussion group.
Furthermore, as you asked funding for the implementation of the activities herein Nepal, can be send via HCSI - USA as it is charity organization. All the expenses will be handled responsibly in Nepal, providing every receipts and vouchers.

Some updates to our efforts to strategize preventing mushroom deaths in Nepal. We have several things lined up. An artist, some ideas and some funding.??
I just talked with Michael Yeh, a toxicology expert and asked whether he is aware of previous poison prevention campaigns in areas of the world? with many dialects and lower literacy. He said possibly just a 2 column safe vs. dangerous visual checklist could be helpful.? I am wondering what would be a good universal symbol in Nepal to indicate death/danger?? ? ?I am remembering "Mr. Yuck" (kind of like this?) a replacement for the skull and ? symbol on household cleaners and lamp oil.
Just re-invited Dr. Devkota and Miou, and will ask Lily to add Rubi, please let us know of others who could be included.
Thanks, Cornelia?

Re: Funds for Flyer art, handling disbursement?
Hi Cornelia!
I know a nonprofit you can send it through to Nepal if you would like, and I am wondering how urgent this is? Can it wait until my friend returns to service on June 10th, or shall I contact another friend connected to the art community in Nepal? I remember you saying wild mushroom season (and chances for poisoning) are approaching and I forget when Shiva Sir said this would begin.?
