Every day I look forward to seeing all those posts from classmates so I can see what all everyone is doing, and everyday is another disappointment because no one is posting here.
Had a sort of work day at the church? on Saturday, even though I am no longer in charge of that committee. Six of the men got together and we put wire handles on 25 #10 cans for the Day School to use for their Christmas activities. We had a good time swapping stories and helping each other to get the wire twisted "just right" and then a section of heat shrink tubing put over the twist so there is no sharp points to worry about.
Our last Can Handle project was to put the handles on 25 cans that the Day School decorated and let the kids take home for their Trick or Treat containers.
So, what have all y'all been doing???

Good for you, John!?
Toni and I have been planning our Christmas trip to Raleigh to see my oldest son Lucas and the family (or as they say in Texas “Lucas ‘n ’em”).

We have flown lately, but we’re going to drive this time, breaking up the trip into 2 four hour drives: Woodstock to Asheville then Asheville to Raleigh the following day. It’s only a little over an hour flying, but the time getting to the ATL airport plus all the waiting and Uber rides makes driving a more appealing option. We’ll see.

Also, we are preparing some Christmas baskets for my grown granddaughters. Marissa, who is working on her masters at the University of Delaware, will be home for Christmas too. My other granddaughter Amelia, who works as a copywriter doing mattress reviews for Sleepopolis will be home too. Finally, our grandson Nick, a junior in HS still lives at home of course. Nick is working on his Eagle Scout project.
?
Toni has some nice Italian meals planned, so we’ll be feasting. I’d like to do a rib roast, but we have a vegetarian contingent to plan for as well. Modern families, eh?

Cheers
Roy

I know how you feel, John. I miss seeing the posts on here daily but I am also guilty for not sharing more.?

Don and I went to San Angelo Thurs through Saturday. My 99 year old aunt was in Shannon since Sunday before but with VA appts., etc., had towait. She got out Friday and is back to her old self, it seems, except somewhere between the nursing home, ambulance and hospital, her glasses disappeared! Also, she left the hospital in her hospital gown...her clothes were nowhere to be found! I'm sure old clothes and old glasses aren't worth stealing, so where are they? I spoke to security at ER and to the 6th floor nurses station to no avail. So irritating. How can a 99 year old in a wheelchair get an eye exam and new glasses? We are going to try readers. Cross your fingers.

We stayed at The Wingate where our reunion will probably be. We usually stay with my brother but they were sick with coughs and congestion. Did not want to catch it and did not want to share it with my aunt. It's a nice hotel.

We enjoyed eating at Western Sky and The DunBar. Friday night we took the tour of Christmas lights by the river. It was so beautiful! They could compete with anything like that in the DFW area and win. And it is so cheap... $8 carload "donation". Even got food coupons to Chick Fil A!. We've done the Parade of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway and it costs way more and isn't half as good.

Now I am writing my Christmas cards and making annual donations to favorite charities such as Meals for the Elderly in San Angelo (My parents and my aunt were recipients and enjoyed getting a meal delivered.) I like Ronald McDonald House in Dallas. When my nephew and his wife were pregnant in 2020 and doctors knew it was a going to be a difficult delivery, they stayed there FREE.(They live in San Angelo.)
The baby came on 12/17/2020 and died 11 hours later, a precious, beautiful baby girl named Temperance Grace. She is buried at Lawnhaven. The following November 30, 2021, they had a perfectly normal baby boy they named Ezra Boaz and we call him Bo. Such a cutie pie. I'll try to attach a picture.

Merry Christmas, dear classmates, and safe travels, or as our dear friend Ron would say, Happy Trails!

Love to all!

Yeah. Northern Alabama is really nice where you will be. Close to Rocket City , Chattanooga and the Tennessee River. No need to pray for rain, either. And you’ll have the grandkids close. We’re next door in northern Georgia.

Yeah. Northern Alabama is really nice where you will be. Close to Rocket City , Chattanooga and the Tennessee River. No need to pray for rain, either. And you’ll have the grandkids close. We’re next door in northern Georgia.

Good luck with the sale and the move, Mary Sue and Foy!? We have over 50 years worth of stuff in our house; it would be a nightmare to get ready to move!

Christmas blessings to all!

Foy and I are on our way back to Texas after closing on a house in Athens, Alabama.? We never thought we would leave our home of 37 years in Abilene.? ?But that 4 year old and 7 year old are such a magnet...not to forget their mother. So, we ask for prayers for our house to sell once we get 37 years of "stuff" out of it.? We wish all of you a blessed season!!

Cheers
Roy
