A Towel Thief Visited Our House


 

No, it wasn't one of the grandkids stocking up their dormitory room with towels.
Sandy usually keeps a towel out on the chair on the back porch to wipe down the dog when she goes out and the grass is wet. The towel was on the chair until this towel thief came along and tried to abscond with it.
Since squirrels usually have two litters a year, I imagine this one is looking to build a nest and thought the towel would come in right handy.
As you can see in the third photo, the towel made it all the way up the tree to a limb about ten feet off the ground. I did thwart the little thief's efforts by retrieving the towel from the tree limb.
If you look close at the third photo, you can see the squirrel flat out on the limb by the towel.
Yes, from now on, we will be keeping the towels inside.

They just steal bird food from my feeder. That was impressive to carry the towel up the tree.?
