Take 60 seconds to read this story. It will give you time to settle your brain,
Gather your thoughts, calm down, and set your day on a positive note.

A little boy wanted to meet God.? He knew it was a long trip to where God lived.

So he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six-pack of Soft Drink and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old man.? He was sitting in the park, just staring at some pigeons.

The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase.? He was about to take a drink from his bottle when he noticed that the old man looked hungry, so he offered him some chips.

He gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.? His smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a soft drink.? Again, he smiled at him. The boy was delighted!

They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As twilight approached, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave;

But before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old man,

and gave him a hug. He gave him his biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face.? She asked him, “What did you do today that made you so happy?”

He replied, “I had lunch with God.” But before his mother could respond, he added,? “You know what?? He’s got the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!”

Meanwhile, the old man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home.

His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked, “Dad, what did you do today that made you so happy?”? He replied “I ate potato chips in the park with God.”

However, before his son responded, he added, “You know, he’s much younger than I expected.”

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime! Embrace all equally!

Have lunch with God...bring chips.?

I'm tempted to gripe to Thor about the rain cancelling events around here but then catch myself: Griping to Thor went out of style thousands of years ago. And anyhow, griping about spring rains in Texas raises the suspicion that you're a secret agent from Yankeeland who has never suffered through a six-month bone-dry broiling Texas summer.

Sorry about your misadventures in San Antonio. If I wuz you, I'd keep raising old Billy about it until I got some kind of compensation or concession. And you remind me how easy it used to be to get medical things done, 'cause medicine is a major industry in Temple for various reasons, and you get to feeling like a lab rat--talking about day-to-day pokes and prods because I'm not forgetting I've had my life saved a couple of times by top-of-the-line surgeons.

On the other hand, maybe I am a lab rat. I'm looking more like an undesirable species every time I look in the mirror...

Rain! Rain! Rain!? Praise Be to God on High!? It started last night and now at 0648 it is pouring down!? Now, I am smiling because the pastures are plowed and waiting for seed!!
I was very upset yesterday with someone in the doctor's office at San Antonio.? They failed to tell me not to take two of my regular meds for six days prior to the surgery scheduled yesterday at 0830.? Let's see, $100 dollars for a room and $100 dollars for fuel.? That person's mistake cost me money, Time, and above all, oh well I just screamed and yelled at Grumpy and what did she do???? See the picture on my FB site!
I am going to stick to Shannon Hospital where I can go eyeball?to eyeball?with the doctor and staff and not wait days for return phone calls.?
June 5 is out for me.? That is training day up in Dallas for Baptist Men's Disaster Response Team.??
Lara, make sure the other classmates behave!!? I loved that smiling face at the Rodeo parade??.
Thanking Our Lord and Savior for the much needed rain.
Happy Trails to YOU till we meet again.
Ronnie

I'll keep the date on my calendar, but it's iffy. I live alone in Temple

now and lost my entire right lung to cancer in 2017; my "new normal" is

that I get around well for about half a day without sustained exertion

or stress and don't have to drag devices around with me, but San Angelo

is probably too far to risk driving alone, especially in hot weather. If

I can solve that problem, I'll let you know. I'd love to see everybody,

and it would be a great way to see the old home place.

Blessings,

Janelle is really busy at this time o the year, but I believe others will step up and make this work.? Let ME know if you are interested so we can get an approximate head count.? Make sure that other classmates get the word.
