Andrew DB201 Antenna 6
I've been tasked by our Red Cross regional director to get a 47 MHz antenna installed for "low band" VHF use on one of their buildings. It seems to be a difficult band to find commercial antennas for, but the Red Cross is still quite active on the band. I'm looking at the Andrew DB201-L. But everything I find about it is years old and I'm having trouble finding a source to purchase one. Is it still manufactured? And if so, where can I purchase one? If not, is there a newer/better alternative before we just build a ground plane antenna (I'd rather not have to, to be honest). I know this isn't strictly repeater related, but I've found other topics on this specific antenna in this forum (although quite old). Thanks! 73, Marlo KA2IRQ

Motorola SLR5700 DMR Repeater 8
My Motorola SLR5700 repeater goes into transmit every minute and does a 5 second data burst. Here are the settings I have in my repeater, I never recall having this problem in the past. Are my settings wrong? Any help is appreciated. We are on Brandmeister Server Master 3102. The repeater is currently on test bench in a dummy load. Beacon duration 4320, beacon interval 60 Or perhaps there is a different setting I should be paying attention to? Thanks, Joe N4ADI

THREAT TO 222-225MHz Spectrum Getting Worse with additional licenses issued outside of California 14
I know I've written about this before but since then the threat has increased to the 222-225MHz Spectrum. The FCC has issued additional licenses to the Company "Chaos" with high powered Radar Testing in the spectrum. The first experiences we had with this was in Hermosa Beach area of Los Angeles County. Now they have new test beds in the following areas: FCC licenses issued to Chaos Industries. Please see the attached documents. WY9XPE - (222-225 MHz) Camp Atterbury, Indiana WY9XYL - (222-225 MHz) MCAS Yuma, Arizona WY9XYM - (222-225) MHz) Irwin National training Center, California WY9XWP - (228-233) MHz Desert Center, Riverside, California Apparently, these are in addition to their existing licenses, These licenses are footnoted that they must cease immediately if they cause interference to Amateur Radio operations. The FCC continues to authorize non amateur radio operations in amateur radio spectrum. If operations are of a temporary, proof-of-concept nature only and in low population areas, perhaps we could just wait. The problem it brings is precedence, which is how many mechanisms of law work. The precedent set giving way to a case being made that they have greater need for the spectrum than we, and an opportunity for the FCC to auction or otherwise reallocate the band. The problem we have, how do we 'defend' against this in these sparse population areas where 220 amateur activity is very low? We can mobilize folks as we have in our local area, but there's a whole interior of the nation where overall use is light. Especially for an off-beaten-path band like 220. This is a strategic threat requiring a strategic response. Remember, these transmitters may not be near you, however if a repeater input can see the transmitter its ability to receive a weak signal is degraded. I urge ALL repeater owners to look at these locations, if in anyway you know repeater owners who may be impacted make them aware of this threat. Today its the 220 MHz spectrum, tomorrow its 1.2GHz, 420-450MHz spectrum or even 144-148MHz, don't think companies like Choas are not thinking of that? Remember, its not a Right, its a Privilege that we can use the spectrum we do and we will have to fight to keep it. Thank you, John N. PD526 Duplexer Tuning 29
I have an issue with tuning a duplexer. As you can see from the pictures the high pass looks good but the low pass has a double peak. I am having an issue trying to merge that double peak into one peak. Any suggestions? Do I have an issue with a high side can or do I just need to keep at it? Thanks Robert

Help with out of range programming a Motorola GP300 2
I was recently given a pair of GP300 HTs and am trying to get them reprogrammed for some new hams in the area. I have the programmer and RSS and can download the codeplug. But, these are 398-443 MHz RX radios (P94YPC20C1) and won't allow me to put the Amateur repeater frequencies in. I've tried the Shift key trick when entering frequencies to no avail (have used this successfully on Radius and GM300 models). Even tried using a Hex editor and directions I found here to alter the ID bit associated with the model. Neither works. Any thoughts on what to try next? ron

Motorola gp340 as echolink node 5
I have a couple of Motorola gp340 laying around and I wanted to make echolink node using rpi 2 and these gp340. After programming ( it was story for another topic) I wanted to connected it with rpi but I cannot find where is the ptt pin on 13 pin connector. Is there someone who can help me with schematic how to connect mic and put. It really poorly informations on the internet... I found that the ptt is supposed to connect ito the pin 5 (option select 2 pin) but voltage on that pin is 3.2V, as on pin 6 (option select 1). Any information would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, Jovan #moto

Difficulty Programming a Maxtrac 300, 32 Channel 14
New to the group and hope you guys can help out in this. I had a real old laptop an Inpiron 3200 that took a crap and it had the RSS software on it. Fortunately, I had made a copy of the RSS on my other computer and I am able to run it in DOSBox but cannot communicate with the rig. The computer I am using only has a USB connector to which I plugged in a USB to serial cable, this went to my RIB box and from there onto the rig. However, communicating with the rig fails. I was wondering if the 300 has a specific Com port and baud rate settings that I could change on this computer to get communication moving along. Thanks, Bill K2WH

Need help on the Quantar test microphone 6
I received an email this morning from a Civil Air Patrol group. They have a Quantar and discovered that the test microphone jack on the front of a Quantar is a 6 pin! RJ11 / RJ-12 / RJ-14 style socket, NOT an 8-pin RJ-45 style. The Quantar (and MSF5000) test microphone is an HMN1001A or HMN1001B, and is a regular mobile microphone except with a 6-pin plug on the end of the curly-cord. Does anyone have the info sheet (even a PDF) that was packed with the HMN1001? Or the part number for the part number for the HMN1001 replacement microphone cord? I called Motorola Parts-ID and WisComm this morning and neither has the info. Does anyone have a contact inside CAP communications??? Maybe they have that info. Thanks in advance. Once I have that part number I'll call Parts-ID and check availability get a price and I'll add both to the Quantar and the MSF pages at repeater-builder. Mike WA6ILQ

crescend dxv100-10 6
Hey folks- we recently acquired several crescend dxv100-10 VHF amplifiers. We’d like to perhaps use these on our repeaters BUT cannot find documentation on them. Spoke to Crescend and they said, “we don’t support that product” and when pressed further as to whether they could search their archives, the response was, “We dont have an archive”—- So yea, not really helpful. Perhaps someone on the forum here might be able to provide some insight/documentation on these units? Much Appreciated! Bryan, KB9UZO

F/S Echo link cable from RC 210 controller
Good evening, as I go through and upgrade my repeater system, I have a NOMIC sound card interface from West Mountain radio and the cable going from the RC 210 computer controller to that interface along with the USB cable from the interface to the computer. All works well, just upgraded so this is now available for sale. If anyone is interested I will ship for $60 for the pair. This is all ready to go just plug in play into the controller and the PC. I also have a second NOMIC that I was using on a CAT 260 controller but this unit does not have any cabling with it. Just the interface box itself. I will ship that one for $35. THREAT TO 222-225MHz Spectrum power point presentation for 220 Spectrum Management Association (Southern California) coming your way. 2
If you think this only affects Southern California please view the attached Power Point that will be presented during our Quarterly Zoom Meeting for our Coordination Group, the company causing harmful interference has a new license for Indiana, so no longer in Los Angeles they have licenses in Arizona and Indiana. Please educate and understand they intend to do testing at various locations across the US, that testing will impact Radio Amateur operations on the 222-225 MHz Spectrum. If you are a 222MHz Repeater Owner and would like to be a guest during our quarterly meeting of 220SMA where the attached power point will be presented, send me a message and I'll forward you the Zoom information. No one will fight for our spectrum but us, if they are successful which band is next? 1.2GHz, 440MHz, 2 meters?

MFJ1112 DC power strip 2
Good evening all, about a week ago or maybe a little more I listed on here that I had a DC power bus for sale, it was the MFJ 1112 with six pairs of binding posts. That one has been sold, but another one has now come available from my repeater cabinet. There was another fellow interested W think his name was Robert. If that person was Robert and was interested, let me know because I have the one now available and dad has a 2 foot power cable because I'm modified it slightly the fit in my cabinet. I will get pictures of it and have those available. I will ship for $30. Oh, I should also mention that it has an Anderson power pole on the end of the power cable. Thanks and 73, Chad WI9HF Chad Nelson WI9HF/WRPL979 Janesville Wisconsin 608-754-8671 Send from my spectrum iPhone 16.

Placing Two Identical Regulated DC supplies in Parallel 23
Any what to look out for situations for this, besides matching voltages? I took an Astron SS-30M that was not switched on and back fed 5-18VDC from a metered regulated bench supply to it. With initial switch on at 13.8V from the bench supply, the "on" current was 200mA that soon dropped to 10mA. The volt meter on the SS-30M then read 13.8V. SS-30M analog amp meter still at zero to the eye. From that test , it appears that no isolating diodes from SS-30 power supplies to common output would be required, and as long as the output voltages are equal, both supplies should carry half of the required current. It seems it would be best would be to use SS-30M supplies so the equal current draws can be confirmed visually, but not really necessary if equal voltages stay equal. If available, is it significantly important or just preferred to connect both supplies voltage sensing leads? The SS-30 supplies do not have externally reachable sense wires, but if really needed, they could be brought outside the case. John

Schematic needed, Motorola NU-140 power supply
Greetings, I'm looking for a copy of the NU-140 power supply. This is the 110 AC supply used on the P series 5 Watt high band (10 Watt low band) P33 Handie Talkie. I have the schematic of the later version (NPN6013A) but resistor values and capacitors don't match the supply I'm repairing. Thanks! Wally Gibbons, AF7FH North Logan, Utah
