NHRC-4M2 ID Off

? ?I have a Master II with a NHRC-4 M2 controller. We are looking for information on shutting off the CW ID. We have not been able to find the information in the Manual to shut it off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rod KI6FH?

Have you tried setting the first character of the ID to FF (end of id)

Hi Rodney,

The NHRC4 -M2 Operating Manual describes most things in a bit more detail. ?I am hopeful you are looking at the document. ?While there doesn¡¯t seem to be a command to shut off the identifier, there are a couple of things you can try. ?The first one is unlock the controller, and program the ID to send nothing but a space. ?The second approach is to change the ID tone frequency to something really high or really low. ?With either of these approaches, you of course will not get an ID, but would get transmitter key up related to the ID timer. ?I used the second approach for a number of NHRC-2 controllers used on remote receiver RF links, allowing us to ID the link using a 100 Hz tone...

My assumption is you wanted to shut off the ID completely, and that you have another mechanism that is providing a method of properly identifying your station.
If this is incorrect, then I have not answered your question correctly, and I am not aware of any documented command to temporarily kill the ID.

I wonder what would happen if you programmed the ID timer to zero, or if it is even possible to do that.? I don't see a range listing of valid values in the manual.
