Johnson CR 1100 VHF repeater
Henry Clark
Ok everybody.....
Time to do some spring season repeater-building. I have here a EF Johnson CR 1100 VHF repeater. This bad boy is rated at 100 watts continuous duty. I also have a new set of ICM rocks for this thing. Chompin' at the bit to get it up and running, but have one problem.......Don't have a service manual to tune the darn thing up! Is this one about as simple as a MASTR II? Would be willing to pay for the tune-up instructions, and places to pull the signals from. Thanks Henry, KC4KZT |

You can't just tune a Johnson radio.
Parts must be replaced. It is a bit of work, but well worth it. I repair Johnson radios / repeaters for a living. You can get a service manual from E F Johnson direct. Look them up on the net. They can also tell you the needed areas to change you the caps to put it in the ham band. Good Luck and let me know how it goes. Daniel KC4PLC |

the CR1100 over any Motorola repeater. The Jonhson is not state of the art, but Johnson has taken K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) to heart. If you can house the unit in a some what climate controlled shack (20 F - 90 F) / or get a small heater in the cabinet you'll never have to look at it again. We see a problem when it hit -20 below with the freq drifting out of tolerance. Good Luck, Scott At 04/05/1999 10:19 PM, you wrote:
