MTR-2000 continuation

Our group got the MTR-2000's and they power up, so very good sign.? However, putting an RSS software on it, the RSS fails to read the MTR..? Tried 2 different cables (FTDI, 2102)? Also have a RIB cable to put on it.... (Com ports match)? I suspect the RSS software might not be correct.? What version to use???? And. do I need a specific OS (WinXP, 7) or what?? If anyone has a codeplug to modify, that would be appreciated....
?
One of them codes out to 100w and 2 meter capable!

You need a DB9 or USB to DB9 to RJ45....RSS is 03.02.0x ....don't need a RIB...wiring info on Repeater Builder site...I use XP in a VMbox but you must make the com ports match after it comes up ..only Com 1 and 2 work.if it's a 150-174 range, there are some mods you need to do to make it work in the 2m band..there are on the RB site as well

Almost positive MTR2K is the same Moto CPS generation where the CPS will run in 64 bit (like MTS/MCS/1st gen Astro) but won't talk to the radio; needs to be 32 bit Windows.

What Bob just said. I have a remote site with a Win10 32 box running just for MTR CPS. Zero success in my experience with 64 bit communicating with the chassis.

I run XP SP3 32bit using Oracle VM virtual box (free) on my Win 10 64 bit laptops...

Works like a champ...my MTR2000 and older Motorola CPS runs just fine that way

I run RSS 14.10.00 on my office Win11 computer directly (compatibility mode Win7) as well as in a ProxMox Win7 VM and never had any issues

Bought an USB FTDI cable from BlueMax49ers.com, and was able to read the MTR-2000 from an XP machine.... now to program it and see what happens....
