Subject: [repeater-builder] WTB: GLB Model 414 transceiver power connector

Hi,
I hope this isn't too far off topic, but there's lots of good GLB information on Repeater Builder, and I have discussed GLB synthesizers with other members of this group....

I found a GLB 414 two meter transceiver while doing a cleaning/dejunking of some shelves. I connected 12 volts to it and the radio actually works, and quite well! But I can't find any power cable for it. It uses a strange 5 pin DIN connector.
If you have a connector that mates with the one on the back of the radio (picture attached)? and want to part with it, I'm interested. Please contact me with a price including shipping.

Thanks.

To me that looks like a 5-pin microphone connector, like used to be used on older CB radios.

Anyone happen to have an assembly sheet for a AirCell/Trilogy NMP01250 Heliax Connector? Don't need the spec sheet. Just need the info to prep the end of the heliax.

Re: DeskTrac Repeater

(I hate out this particular forum doesn't let you edit a message)
?
What I meant to say is all old DOS software relies on being in Real Mode, and doesn't know what Protected Mode is. It's all going/filtered through Windows, so it's like a guy listening to someone on a phone in one ear and relaying it to someone on the another phone in the other ear. Timing suffers...

Re: DeskTrac Repeater

I think the problem is that even if everything's mapped correctly, you're still using DOSBOX; hence, you're in Protected Mode, which all old Moto DOS RSS relies on. I seem to recall that new fork called DOSBOX-X had some scheme to compensate to fake REAL Mode but I haven't studied it or anything. It's on github. In any case, I just said f@#$ it and got an old Toughbook w/a real serial port that accepted a floppy drive so I could boot real DOS and stop rolling the DOSBOX dice.

Re: Quantar chassis

I think that's it. Like I said elsewhere I went to do the PA output align but got sidetracked...
?
But pretty sure that was the problem since four PAs did the same thing

Re: Quantar chassis

used the service monitor output on 10 mhz for reference. With no reference the station will not transmit or receive, so had that part covered

Re: Swap: Ics controllers quantar 1x for a northcomm quantar ecm.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. I was still trying but I have officially given up on the ics.

Did you have a northcomm?

Thanks

I'd guess that you'd want to look at any sort of Data PTT function the
radio may have. Hopefully someone will chime in here with some
application notes.

Here is an extensive list of jumpers:

Here is some info on interfacing the non-Motorola ways:

I'd also potentially be interested in a uhf service manual if anyone

There are digital copies in the above URL at the top or relevant

An alternative forum to ask the questions is
however the (analog?) Spectra is
considered rather old at this point.

Spectra Flat TX/RX Audio

All,

On batlabs's spectra page it mentions that there is an option on the analog spectra to do flat tx/rx audio which I need for some data purposes,? It also mentions that hte info is in the service manual (the version I have its not) Does anyone know what jumpers need to be changed inside the radio to get flat tx/rx audio to the rear connector on a dash-mount radio?

RC-100 programming.

I've searched the existing topics without finding what I need. I have an RC-100 that's working well, but I'd like to disable the base station timeout. I have worked with the tones, but it's been a couple of years. Can anyone help with the tone sequence? Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Re: kyodo kg510

Same cable as used on the Midland Base Tech II and III stations, if that helps. They are rebadged KG510s.

Re: Kenwood D710 No audio on Aux port

That is correct. Fortunately, Kenwood did correct that oversight in their new NXR-1000 series.

ALTHOUGH, I'm disappointed there are no options to be able to control encoded CTCSS/DCS via external logic in teh NXR-1000 series, as could be done with the TKRs and NXR-710 and 810

Re: Quantar chassis

A Quantar chassis is universal, you can put in any modules and it all works the same. I agree on checking the transmitter power alignment.?

I’ll bet your 900 chassis has a high stability oscillator installed and your 800 doesn’t?
It creates trouble….

Folks I had something odd here. I have three Quantars in service, all 100W, one UHF in 441 band, two 927 band. I had a PA fail on the 927 in Cedar Hill so for tight now I pulled the PA from the local Quantar here at the house and put it in Cedar Hill and that's all fine, 100W out. The 441 Quantar is here in the shack and easy to work on (its three feet away). So I popped out the UHF exciter and PA, installed a 900 exciter and one of my spare 900 PA's, reprogrammed the codeplug for 900 transmit, connected the 10 mhz out from my service monitor for external ref. All three PA's only would make 20 watts and all showed PA Fail and PA low. And to answer the first question, the PA out was connected directly to the Bird/load.?
?
Is there a difference between a UHF and 900 (or 800) chassis? I'm puzzled because when I popped one of these PAs into the 927 Quantar in the garage all was fine, no faults. Also in the uhf chassis they all showed just about zero reflected power.?
