Yeah, that was a common issue with early Zetron products that were designed prior to any real RS-232 standard existing for DE-9's.? If memory serves, they used pins 3 and 4 instead of 2 and 3 for data.? And I think pin 2 was either +5V or +12V for powering external equipment.? I forget what ground was...should be able to ohm it out to chassis if nothing else.

Zetron did not use the standard pin out of db-9 connectors. Check in any of their manuals for the pin outs (don’t have a manual handy here now or I’d post it)

It's likely that not every one of their customers has had a bad experience; so it might be doing a dis-service to those if the entry is removed. It's probably kinder to find reliable alternatives and add them to the list.
That's a rather bad advert for a company: buy our product, & maybe you'll get lucky & get one that works.

I'll hold off on making a recommendation until I get my Krystaly order. If they work out I think it really would be best to replace the Bomar listing.

Re: COR Signal from HT1000 (or similar) for Remote Receiver

Eric Grabowski

Tony, while this may not work for you, I want to mention something our club did to maintain temperature stability at a remote site subject to wild ambient temperature swings. We mounted the remote receiver and link transmitter in a homemade wooden box slightly larger than necessary to house the equipment. Both the receiver and transmitter were crystal controlled and not in heated ovens. Then we placed a small incandescent bulb inside the box. This kept the equipment at a fairly constant temperature once it reached equilibrium. I don't recall if the bulb was one of the larger Christmas tree types or an oven lamp but either way it was not many watts. This was back in the 1970s. The radios were Midland ham grade mobiles. It was an inexpensive solution that worked for years until we had the money to upgrade to commercial radios with TCXOs.
