Re: 147.06
开云体育Chris, ? Just remember that you are doing a good thing for some hams that use your system and that is a positive. The fact that no good deed goes unpunished, is something we must look past and concentrate on the Positives we do. In the big scheme of things, the whiners spend much of their time whining and saying what somebody should do. They never dream of getting to work and doing it themselves. So, Thanks for what you and I and lots of other Hams that own, pay for and maintain repeaters, do for people that use our systems for FREE and constantly discuss what needs to be improved or fixed on our systems. Someday maybe I’ll tell you about my time as a frequency coordinator! Keep up the good work! ? 73 Mike NI4M? 146.940 FL ? ? ? Re: Attempting to program a Maxon SM2150. Looking for proper prog cable. Have software.
Checkout the files section.? Note: none of this is verified and YMMV,? I don't have this radio! Just interest in such things and late night technical ramblings.?
A check of the Service manual SM-2000 and it appears when the CPU puts the radio in programming mode (as per the programming manual) it switches over three lines IC412 4053.
DO, DI and SK from their normal functions on the 6pin RJ MIC connector , PTT, Mic and Hanger.? CS is also needed for 93C46 EEProm is present on the Mic connector.?
Tried the software SMP4004C in Dosbox-x and boy I miss the simple DOS programs, that actually work in a small amount of code.?
Just don't know how they generate the SK = serial clock pulses. The SMP2000 cable looks like a 9pin D to the 6 pin mic plug. Maybe worth a CRO look at the pins when trying to program to determine if there is a clock pulse there somewhere! CCT also shows an 8 pin socket inside the radio with same programing pins.?
?
Otherwise?
Then as a last resort I found page to directly read the EEProm and be able to write data from the software back into it. Again all care and no responsibility!??
might be useful information too.?
/Can only say good luck mate.?

Re: insulation shoulder washer
After two years they have not provided a clickable link from their main page. They call them "bushings" but I get a different page that what he posted.?
But yea, I'm used to the ?"as your favorite monopoly" since I'm a windows clone. I think you were thinking about amazon, which I do a lot of shopping. They are sooo handy.
Thanks again for the tip :)

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Again, if you are REALLY worried, the TPLs were designed to be 50ohms between stages so you can bypass the PREdriverr and put higher RF into the remaining stages...this would?allow the Kenwood to run at 10watts?and you have a stable output... But whatever works for? you.... Later Chris WB5ITT On Fri, Apr 4, 2025 at 7:27?PM Chad Nelson via <chad.nelson71=[email protected]> wrote:

147.06
Last night at the Orange Club meeting, I saw another testament to the dumbing down of America and ham radio.....
The question was asked why the 147.06 rptr was down and the answer given was "It was down for maintenance"....I could not believe my ears....at the end of the meeting I walked to the new ham who made that statement and looked him in the eye and said "Nice LIE...its off because the license expired a month ago and it was still on the air illegally..." He replied yep....
?
WTH??? You have to LIE about something like that??? Hell, I forgot to file the renewal on my AM station in Lumberton and finally got it done the DAY before it expired....I got hit with a $1500 fine from the FCC....and that was it.....I didn't lie, I FORGOT......and paid the fine and moved on....didn't hurt anyone and didn't affect my standing with the FCC...
SO WHY THE HELL did this lie about 147.06 come up?? Too arrogant to admit the trustee (who lives in Groves and the 06 rptr is NOT part of the Orange Club) forgot to file the renewal? They didn't want to look stupid??? They think they can pull the wool over people's eyes?? WTH????
?
TELL THE TRUTH.....
?
But they won't

Re: Where did db Products go?
Alright ! It's Comscope (one m). ?I needed to sort my files/vender and which folder (name) to make it on my PC. ?
My HDD on my PC crashed hard last fall so, I lost a lot of files; since dummy here, did not performed backups. ?There was a huge gouge in the two top platters of this 1 TB drive. ?Yike's !
Now, I'm on to finding those cool insulation washers Doug pointed me to.

220Mhz ACSB amplifier
I have a few of these LMM 220 amplifiers.?
I drive it with .05w and it gives me 113W or so output. From the analyzer it looks very clean.
Of course these amps were not made for FM.
I have seen a few past posts where people would talk about these and several are in use, but there is only one post where someone said to bypass a capacitor to use on fm. No mention what cap he is referring to. For those who are familiar with this amp, enlighten me on your expirence or knowledge. ?
It would be real nice to convert the exciter and receiver to fm! That’s fairyland thinking…

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Chad,
I think you have made the correct decision.
?
Glad Ken chimed in also. Ken is a Kenwood dealer and also sold TPL amps back in the day. I have purchased several TKR-750 and 850's from him and a few TPL amps as well.
?
Do like Ken suggested, start at 1 watt and bump it up until you are where you want to be for power out. Once you get to that point, have your guy look at it on a spectrum analyzer to make sure the amp is happy.

Attempting to program a Maxon SM2150. I have software but having a tough time locating a programming cable.
The information I find tells me the SM 2000 series requires Maxon SMP 2000 programming cable.
I'm prepared to purchase a cable (or borrow).
It is my understanding that the prog. cable plugs into the mike socket (RJ). My SM 2150 has a 15 pin connector directly above the +12 VDC wires. Would this be a prog. connection? I have no info on this connector. Having the rear connector confuses things.
I'm not certain whether the radio programs thru the mic. connector or the rear connector. If the rear connector is for programming, then the SMP2000 would be an incorrect cable.
Hopefully someone will have an answer.
