I've only messed with a DR-1X and in my experience, they are not.? We ran one for a little bit at site that has a 100W VHF fire pager.? Anytime a page went out it would completely kill the receiver

What is the vintage of the diplexer, where is it sited: out in the weather; were the N connectors properly sealed... or

And I forgot.... the base/mounting. Another good fix is to use shim stock to
take up any slop in the mount. I will also slot the mounting tube and use a

Could very well be the antenna. All the Diamonds use fragile disc caps that
are easily toasted, not that I ever recommend using a Diamond for repeater
use, but if you do, replace the disc caps with

Which model power supply do you have?
If it's the AC input high power supply make sure you have the ferrite bead
on the power cable. Also check between Onan and Motorola versions.

Turn off the UHF repeater, remove the Comet diplexer, jumper the VHF path and run the VHF repeater alone - during a cracklie period. Rules out a diplexer issue on the VHF side.
