Re: Quantar Extender Cables
I like to use the curved or straight pick from the Harbor Freight pick set,
depending on which one I grab.
If the SCM card is being stubborn I've had it bend the tool on the back of

Re: Quantar Extender Cables
The cover plate is a board puller, FYI.
There's a metal tab on the backside of the board cover faceplate (the one with the Speaker).? If you turn it around, you can slip it in to a groove at the

That's strange, I often get better coverage than it gives, and rarely (I
don't remember a case) don't get it where it says. Make sure *both*

Re: Antenna Thoughts and Suggestions
I have found Radio Mobile to be quite accurate. As I recall, there are certain parameters that need to be set in order to get that accuracy. Haven't used it in years, however. It did compare well to

Hi,
Radio Mobile is a toy...
Send me the coordinates and tx, antenna, cables etc parameters and I will
try a real coverage simulation with the ATDI's ICS Telecom professional

This evening, once again, I tried Radio Mobile. I tried it a few years ago at the request of the frequency coordinator in eastern Idaho. And again this evening with similar results. If only I had the

Re: TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
To the best of my knowledge, the 751/851 production was close in alignment
to the 750/850 version 2.
I'll defer to others here who own/operate/run Kenwood shops.

Re: TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Thanks, Jeremy that's good to know. I mentioned it to my radio guy. He didn't know much about the 851, so maybe that shop to deal with many of those. Do you know how oldthose radios are approximately?

Re: TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
With the TKR-851 being designed for 1-25w operation, that's probably your
best candidate for this application. I have two of them set aside here for
future projects that require an external

Should've mentioned this in the message, but I have the 850 version two, and a TKR 851.

Re: TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Chad,
If your TKR-850 is a Version 2 radio, the output should be stable at 5 watts in the low power setting. I have ran them as low as 1 watt and never had a problem.
The early radios prior to the

TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Hi all,
I have the TPL PA6-1AE UHF repeater amp in stock here. Curious if anyone
knows if the imput drive can be adjusted to support 10W drive instead of 5W?

Uh, what? You've got a bent up chassis then. I've never had issues like that and I've worked on hundreds of the things. The SCM and WL cards can be a bit of a pain but still don't require that level
