The twin K5s named 'Robert' and 'Leopold' were found sitting at Lazio port area of Civitavecchia in June of '44, I think these are photos of Leopold (as Robert was much more damaged by the time the GIs found them).
I recently saw photos of Leopold inside the new Ordnance collection at Fort Lee. It looked great indoors after being outside pretty much it's entire life. Once of the things I miss about going through Ordnance Officer course at Aberdeen (back in 98) was running past Leopold during PT as well as the tanks in the museum space across the road. |
