NC40A files
When Chuck posted about shutting qrp-tech down he wrote this:
"Please do not migrate files to other groups. They were put here by the owners and they have all rights to same." and this thread, while not putting files in the "Files" section of the new group, still flies in the face of his wishes. Did you check with Chuck before posting these? Because I did. |
I stopped following that group once I was told it shut down. I have deleted the post just so people don't get all upset. If anyone would like them and doesn't have them please mail me either by PM or good on the zed and I will be happy to share them. I feel like this whole petty what ever is going on is going to far and goes against the whole point of the hobby. I am here and in other groups to promote the hobby and its well being by sharing my love for building and homebrew. That said, I apologizes if I have offended anyone. 73 ?David ?? N8DAH |
Hi David,
I don't like the group shitting down either, but I'm just kinda on the "it is what it is" train. I feel there were still lots of good discussions but hopefully those can continue here. I specifically asked Chuck last night if emailing the NC40A files to interested people was ok, he said it's a good learning project and that was fine. I'm not sure of posting them to the group is all that different but he is not usually one to mince words, that's why I quoted him in my comment. At the end of all this I just hope people can be civil and have some educational fun. 73 OM |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThis pretty much covers it: ====>> I feel like this whole petty what ever is going on is going T00 far and goes against the whole point of the hobby. I am here and in other groups to promote the hobby and its well being by sharing my love for building and homebrew. <<====
and due to the fact that some us are NOT college educated electrical engineers and require a bit more ELMERing than others........ any? and all help is appreciated.
I learned more building radios in the last 5 years from ....forum
participation...? than I did on my own tinkering for 50 years.?

I am seriously confused by all this.
IF I posted a file to the other group it is mine to copy and reuse.? Since its closed and I un-subbed getting that stuff is not an issue or a factor. Why? Typically it taken was from my own rather large archive (142GB!) of material saved and collated.? So I can post it in any forum as desired for reference.? ?Over the years that archive has helped a lot of people or provided a common circuit or text to work from. So IF I post anything I gave ME permission.? IF that annoys, sorry. Allison |
This is definitely a hot topic! I've mentioned that I am trying to come up with a solution. What others do with the files is up to them and I won't condone or disparage anyone for doing their own thing. But, I'm locking this topic just because of how heated it is. I'm not a strict moderator- I just think it's in the best interest to stop things here while I work on a solution.?
Thanks for understanding! --

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHey Ryan,I? myself am ok with it as I understand that group dynamics vary from group to group. This is especially true when the group is replacing another group and expectations run high. You're doing good! BTW... I love the "New group smell"! Is that "Rich Corinthian Leather"? :-) -- 73/72 . . Bob de k2ki k2ki@... k2ki.bb@... I apologize for alienating the very ones I was trying to do the right thing for. Locking the thread was a bad idea, and I'm sorry. You won't see any more locked threads. |
