Re: SST-20 from Wayne Burdick, N6KR - Manhattan Circuit Construction Madness Project
Daniel Interesting. I imagine the copyright is to disallow someone from commercially selling that manual or large portions of it, likely with a kit. QRP rigs are published to encourage experimenters

Re: Multi-function test jig idea for homebrew radios.
Great ideas. How about making a 100mm X 100mm PCB layout of these circuits, generating the Gerber files and turning on the serration flag so you can submit them to a board house offering a special 5x

Re: Multi-function test jig idea for homebrew radios.
How about a varicap diode C testing fixture...or a setup to measure the choking power of toroidal common mode chokes or the transformers used in end-fed antennas? Regards, Kirk, NT0Z My book, "Stealth

Re: WWV receiver
Does anyone have the schematic/information for the simple W1AW receiver? I only vaguely remember seeing it and I believe it was offered as a commercial product at one time. I always wanted one but it

Re: Mad Hatters
The 2SC5706 5W RF Amp (FT=400) which came in the 5Watter is still available at kitsandparts. But the 2SC5551A 1W RF Amp (FT=3,500 MHz) is Out of Stock. I am no engineer, so I have no idea where to

Re: Mad Hatters
Daniel, The TI chip was test of a video amplifier.? It was not a drop in replacement. The point, I think, is that we have to find someone who has experimented with them to point out pros and cons.?

Chuck, About the headers - yeah, I like the idea of using an IC socket and headers than doing dead bug style.? Good idea here. And I want to build a SST-20.? Is the Video Op Amp TI TL592P a drop-in

WWV receiver
Here is a beginner project. You remember the VE3DNL WWV receiver standard.? Found schematic online in a search for something else a few minutes ago. I know that some one (Nick?) did an improvement

Builders using Manhattan Construction (a.k.a Mad Hatters), 1.? I use 2.54mm male and female headers for several purposes. See ebay and sort by price+shipping and search for the number you need.?

Re: SST-20 from Wayne Burdick, N6KR - Manhattan Circuit Construction Madness Project
Hmmmm Once I find a schematic on the internet or some publication, it's fair game for me to replicate it in whole or part.? Period.? Take a look at my QRZ page and see all those stolen designs!?

Re: Crystals
This is the W7ZOI article Walt mentioned showing the new emitter resistor value. I too needed to change mine to the new 3.3 kohm emitter resistor. https://w7zoi.net/filters/9megxfils.pdf 73, Steve

Thanks Walt. I'll give that a try and see what happens. I still have that small batch of crystals on my bench. 73 Mike M. KU4QO <wt3i14297@...> wrote:

Re: SST-20 from Wayne Burdick, N6KR - Manhattan Circuit Construction Madness Project
Jerry, Chuck wants to get permission because the SST-20 is copyrighted - the radio design - manual - schematic. So, out of respect for Wayne - both were originally part of NorCal Club. So, whatever
