Re: "A Binaural IQ Receiver" QST Mar 1999 Campbell KK7B
I have also wondered if a double balanced diode ring mixer with the usual ft43-10's will work in place of the modules as they are usually listed. I can make a DBDRM for a few cents compared to

Jerry, I will look at your circuit. One of things was wondering about was whether diode ring mixers would wprk in lieu of the minimodules. I suppose the only group project PCB possible would be from a

Thanks for the new group. Homebrew is by far the most interesting part of the hobby. Currently working on a transceiver. It started on 40m and currently works on 60m. I plan to make it properly

The schematic IS IN the manual.? I know there was some difference to the earlier manual/schematic, I had to update my PCB design during my build. 73, Gary WB6OGD

The Sandford Wattmeter is temporarily discontinued but I believe Kanga UK may have 1 or 2 left (none in the states).? It's a fantastic power meter but does not measure SWR.? The "Oner" Stockton

Just to clarify (correct me, please, if I'm wrong):? The "RevE" designation refers only to the schematic, not to the manual. Agree--it's an excellent manual. Jerry AA6KI Tucson

Re: Stockton vs Resistive SWR Bridge
I have and use both types.? The resistive bridge has the advantage that the transmitter never sees an SWR above 3:1, even across an open or a dead short, so it's easier on the transmitter.? I break

Thank you for setting up the group.? I find that I learn more by listening than by talking, so I don't usually say too much.? I've learned a lot from this group and hope to see it continue. -Eric

I've built this receiver but had a few changes to Rick's design.? His diplexers were extremely complex and I ended up using a simple diplexer from "Solid State Design for the Radio Amateur"

Graham, your understanding is generally correct as long as it¡¯s not a ¡°derivative work¡± of Dr. C¡¯s artwork. A simple approach, of course, is to just ask Dr. Campbell if he owns the copyright

I have the Kanga Kits Stockton bridge and it works well for testing up to 20 W output and down to 1 W. Also has an output for a scope. It is my favorite and I have 3 different SWR/dummy loads. I got

I'm intrigued. On the Old Group, I had posted about building a homebrew phasing rig, I was reminded about the R2/T2 from KK7B. Those PDF's are at arrl.org too, and I've downloaded both of them so I
