Re: smd tweezers
Stainless steel tweezers There are two types of stainless steels; 300 and 400 series. One is magnetic and the other is not magnetic; the 300 series are the non-magnetic ones. Regards, Walt K3ASW

uPDCR Phasing SSB Receiver
Hi Everyone The uDCR2 worked so well I thought I'd have a go at an SSB version. It uses the phasing method of image rejection. The PCBs are here and I've started building. This is the filter response:

Re: Flying Diodes and Tongue in Cheek
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!! Wrong answer Steve.? :-) I hope that I mentioned in the write up that I changed it to 10K.? Purpose?? To lower the operating voltage of the Colpitts

Re: Flying Diodes and Tongue in Cheek
The schematic still has a typo--R1 should be 47 ohms, not 10 k ohms (other than the crystal which is mentioned).

Hi William, I feel your pain as a Linux (and Mac) user. You can however run Elsie under Wine on Linux, so no need to look for any other tools. Hope that helps, Karl Heinz - K5KHK

Flying Diodes and Tongue in Cheek
Gang, 1.? I was joking the other day about the SMD build of the uni-VFO and how I set the world record for a flying diode.? And I said I didn't need a diode. The village idiot strikes again.? I

Re: Single band front end board project
Hi Steve, Which software did you use for the crystal filter design? The topology with the capacitor T in the middle is new to me. 73, Mike AF7KR

Re: VHF QRP project/building
Doing FM using 5351 is a bit more involved. Am or DSB or SSB is actually about the same level of effort. Me I'd put a SSB radio in it at the 1Watt level as that is easy power and easy on batteries.?

Neat Gimmick..
Sent this on to Neville, ZL2BNE, who has been helpful in my tussle with a 20A rig. Thought you all might enjoy this.. Dug this up while messing about with the 20A and the LPF and such. While I plan to

Re: KitsAndParts uni-VFO kit
Hi Nick, Do you have a 100nF cap between the VTune pin and ground? (There is an extra cap in each kit that you can solder across those pins on the VFO). What value of potentiometer did you use? Higher

I've got one of those Uni-VFOs (and another one still in the paper bag, waiting to be soldered). I think it's a clever project and the small size, use of a pot for tuning, and configuration set by

Hello Albert, I built something like you're describing a number of years ago. I had some hamfest flea market crystals, 3rd OT, for 50.245 that I wanted to do something with. The receiver section was
