Universal Crystal Oscillator
I am not sure if it was this group or a forum but somebody was looking for a crystal oscillator that would work with a wide range of rocks. I have found two different circuits. One is an old module

Re: SMD learning curve
Chuck's comments about his skillet made me think of the electric skillets that were used for smd reflow soldering.? They used to be all over the web but now all I see are youtube videos like this

Re: smd tweezers
I'm sorry, wrong item. Search eBay for "Precision Reverse Ceramic Tweezer" and you'll be rewarded with several options. I have two sets; one natural colored and one black. I've not had magnetic issues

Re: smd tweezers
I have this set of Technik curved tweezers that are not magnetic, I've had them for years. They say 7SA on them. Apparently Aven now? sells Technik, and this appears to be about the same, though the

Re: smd tweezers
How do we/I know which one was used in the tweezers listed?? I have bought SEVERAL pair from Amazon that claim to be for smd work and every single one of them is magnetic and none of them tell you

Re: Flying Diodes and Tongue in Cheek
Hi Chuck. Sorry about your casualty. I guess those diodes also make a good fuse :-) I think an 0805 package LED would fit, but I don't think it's a good idea. The full current supply will flow through

Re: smd tweezers
Stainless steel tweezers There are two types of stainless steels; 300 and 400 series. One is magnetic and the other is not magnetic; the 300 series are the non-magnetic ones. Regards, Walt K3ASW

uPDCR Phasing SSB Receiver
Hi Everyone The uDCR2 worked so well I thought I'd have a go at an SSB version. It uses the phasing method of image rejection. The PCBs are here and I've started building. This is the filter response:

Re: Flying Diodes and Tongue in Cheek
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!! Wrong answer Steve.? :-) I hope that I mentioned in the write up that I changed it to 10K.? Purpose?? To lower the operating voltage of the Colpitts

Re: Flying Diodes and Tongue in Cheek
The schematic still has a typo--R1 should be 47 ohms, not 10 k ohms (other than the crystal which is mentioned).

Re: Neat Gimmick..
Hi William, I feel your pain as a Linux (and Mac) user. You can however run Elsie under Wine on Linux, so no need to look for any other tools. Hope that helps, Karl Heinz - K5KHK

Flying Diodes and Tongue in Cheek
Gang, 1.? I was joking the other day about the SMD build of the uni-VFO and how I set the world record for a flying diode.? And I said I didn't need a diode. The village idiot strikes again.? I

Re: Single band front end board project
Hi Steve, Which software did you use for the crystal filter design? The topology with the capacitor T in the middle is new to me. 73, Mike AF7KR

Re: VHF QRP project/building
Doing FM using 5351 is a bit more involved. Am or DSB or SSB is actually about the same level of effort. Me I'd put a SSB radio in it at the 1Watt level as that is easy power and easy on batteries.?

Re: KitsAndParts uni-VFO kit
Hi Nick, Do you have a 100nF cap between the VTune pin and ground? (There is an extra cap in each kit that you can solder across those pins on the VFO). What value of potentiometer did you use? Higher
