Hi Graham, The MC1350 is now made by Lansdale Semiconductor as part number ML1350. I assume that Lansdale has acquired the rights to the design from Motorola (or the successor to Motorola Semiconductor). Datasheet at The Elecraft K3 uses a pair of ML1350 in the IF section. An alternative voltage-controlled-gain IF amplifier IC is the Texas Instruments TL026.
