New QSOs not being displayed as expected

This afternoon I decided to mess with QLog and WSJT-X to get the latter to talk to the former, which it does. (Hooray!) I also added the PPA to my Mint 22 installation and upgraded to QLog 0.42.0. the previous 0.41.1 installation being built from the tarball. (By the way QLog is the best Linux logging app. Thanks, foldyn! Outstanding work!)
?
When I make a new contact in WSJT-X (v2.71-devel 250206 _TCI 074 Improved PLUS in case that matters), update the Duration in QLog to the current time then click Save the QSO list at the upper left isn't updated as expected, it still only shows several old manually entered SSB contacts. However, when I click View/WSJT-X my recent FT8 contacts appear at the upper right above the map. I was expecting the list of displayed QSOs to all appear in one place, in the list on the upper left, and it be updated as new FT8/FT4 contacts are made. I must be not understanding how QLog works?

Do you have a filter enabled which would perhaps hide the digital QSOs?

No. I haven't added any filters. But when double-checking in case I'd added one and forgotten, I found that the preset filter "Recent" had been selected, apparently by default. When I changed this to "User Filter" (with no actual user filters) my missing recent FT8 contacts showed up in the main QSO table where I'd been expecting to find them.
