QSL PSE/TNX

IZ5FSA Leo

Hi.
I'm using QLog (flathub version on Debian Trixie) and I think it's a very good HamLog.
I've searched info about QSL cards facilities and I've found export dedicated function.
I'm using Glabels and I wonde if there is a way to have a field with TNX or PSE QSL.
It will be extremely useful, as it will be important having multiple QSOs with the same callsign on the same CSV record to print multi QSo labels.
Thank you for suggestions for solutions or turnarounds...

Re: Release 0.30.0

Hi Dave, nah it's a separate window, just very close and same size. I always use something separate to control the rig that can show me what's going on (ALC, Power, SWR etc) as I am sometimes not in front of the PC. But also mainly because my main rig here is an FT-891 which shows very little in the way of what's going on with the rig on the very small LCD screen. It just means I can see what's going on in one place as I mostly do FT8, and for FT8 I always do the same setup. Rig controlled by Flrig whether on Windows or Linux (I have a Win 10 PC and Manjaro laptop). JTDX etc connected to Flfig. Gridtracker connected to JTDX etc for real time log uploads. Logbook connected to Gridtracker for logging and to get callsign info etc. On Windows thats Log4OM (without Gridtracker) and Linux Qlog for now. Sounds a bit complex but it works well.

Re: Club Membership Lists

It is not important to be updated regularly (via CRON), but rather that it is published with the last update date information.

I believe it is not a good idea to add this information to the file header, as it could potentially disrupt applications that download the file. On the other hand, if you add it to the website (), the information may be lost. The best approach in this situation would be to include the last update date information on the page . The date format can be adjusted based on your preferences.

Re: Club Membership Lists

OK let me know your preference, location, format etc and I'll see what I can do.
Presently this file is manually created as and when I think of it. I mean to automate the file creation via a daily or weekly CRON job.

Re: Club Membership Lists

I don't know if you are able to change it, but one of the lists without timestamp is the UKMSG memberlist. I use this file () and there is no time information. The missing timestamp information has no impact on QLog updating process, but it would be nice to have this information somewhere.

I don't know if it is appropriate to put this information in the header of the file or to publish it elsewhere, it is not important.
What is important is that the information will exist

Re: Club Membership Lists

Brilliant, many thanks. If there's anything I can to at my end to improve things just let me know.

Re: Club Membership Lists

I design QLog so that the user does not have to solve these things. QLog regularly, every 7 days, checks if there is any update in the lists on Github (https://github.com/foldynl/hamradio-membeship-lists). If there is a change, new lists are downloaded automatically when QLog is started. The Github repo is also updated once every 7 days, always on Wednesday morning.

Everything is updated automatically, but many Clubs publish data without any timestamp information , so it is not possible to find the latest update directly at the source.

Re: Release 0.30.0

Hi Phill,
I'm new to QLog I've come the other way, moving from Linux to Windows 11 having been a KDE user for the past 10 years. I'm going to try and activate Linux from within Windows 11 and have everything in one box.? I was curious about your screenshot, it looks like to me that your connecting to your rig via FLRig, I'm also doing this as \I can't get QLog to talk to my FT2000 I wondered if you were having a similar issue?

Also I looks as if you have FLRig running in an embedded window in QLog, if \I'm correct, I wonder how did you do that, I only manage to get the FLRig to float ontop of QLof?

Club Membership Lists

I have a question regarding Club Membership Lists. I am he webmaster for the UK Six Metre Group (UKSMG) and I see that the membership list I set up for CQRLog is also in QLog.
I also see that this list is regularly updated in Github which is great.

My question is how does the latest club member list bet updated in a users QLog client, is there any thing the user has to do to get the latest list?

Re: Rig Connection Problem

Just in case it help to debut this issue attached is the debug output I got when directly connecting to my FT2000 from Hamlib which also works fine outside of QLog.

Re: Release 0.30.0

Phill,

Thank you for the feedback. I'm glad to hear that everything is working.

Regarding Clublog and online upload, I've written a brief explanation about Clublog online upload support on?. I hope this text addresses any questions you may have.

There's a possibility that Clublog online upload will be implemented in QLog. Clublog is a service where this could be easily done. However, it's temporarily disabled now because the old implementation doesn't handle updates and deletions correctly. I want to make sure it's implemented correctly before enabling it again.

Re: Release 0.30.0

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for maintaining this and updating it. I have wanted to move off Windows for some time now for a lot of reasons but every time I'd get really good working JTDX, WSJT-X etc I always felt let down by logbooks, this after coming from Log4OM on Windows. I don't have a very big list of things I need from a logging program but simple is always better. This is why I like Log4OM and even more ACLog. One Window for everything and they both do what they do well. So on Linux it was either CQRLog and Klog (what else is there?) I played with both of these and settled on Klog for it's simplicity, I only operate FT8 and it worked well. With CQRlog you have to refresh the QSO lot after logging to see new QSO. But I could never get Klog to do uploads properly. It would insist on uploading the same QSO again and again for Clublog etc. Anyways, I could go on but after about 30 minutes with Qlog I had everything working as it should and was even able to resize the window down small as I wanted, and also turn off the stuff I didn't want to see. I basically just want to see the log as QSO are logged from JTDX etc.

So far only thing missing for me is real time Clublog uploads, but I see that is only "temp" disabled? so it might come back soon. I can manually upload every now and then as it's quick and unlike Log4OM can do it from the one interface. I did all my EQSL, Clublog, LoTW uploads with Qlog this morning and it worked great. However folks depend on the real time Clublog updates to know they are dealing with the real C21TS :) I can't believe I never found this before in many searches. I only stumble across it beacsue I looked for logbook on the Arch Linix AUR. I have built it from the AUR pages.

Anyways, excellent work, please keep it up. Am thinking to move everything to Linux now.?

Re: Rig Connection Problem

OK well I work SSB and WSJT so I'll have to switch connections when I switch modes.

I did think of installing the rigctld daemon on my window pc and see if I can use it as a rig gateway, but not quite sure how I'd install that. I would be easy on Linux ;-)
Maybe install it on my Raspbery Pi and use that as my rig gateway?

Thanks for taking the time to look into this, as I'm the only one reporting this problem not worth you wasting any more time over it.
If I ever manage to resolve it, I'll let you know.

Re: Rig Connection Problem

It is a good workaround with FLRig. However, if you want to run it with WSJTX, then this is the best solution, because QLog does not share the RIG connection.

Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to me, because everything works against the simulator.

Here are my FT2000 settings:

Re: Rig Connection Problem

Hi?Ladislav,
I have now managed to connect QLog to my FT2000 via the FLRig app.
I chose FLRig in Hamlib settings nd it works fine

Re: Rig Connection Problem

Please, could you send me a screenshot of your QLog's Rig setting?

Re: Rig Connection Problem

Looks like from these error messages that Hamlib 4.1 connects but fails to fetch VFO A Frequency whereas 4.3.1 fails to connect alltogether?

Re: Rig Connection Problem

Hi Ladislav,

Still no joy I'm afraid.

hamlib 4.1 returns the following error:

Rig Error: Get Frequency Error

Error Detail: Invalid parameter

hamlog 4.3.1 returns this error:

Rig Error: Open Connection Error

Error Detail: Invalid parameter

Thanks for trying, not sure where we go from here?

Re: Rig Connection Problem

I look at the source code of Hamlib and fix#569 is a part of Hamlib 4.5.5. This version is used by current QLog.

As promised I prepared 2 versions of QLog with Hamlib 4.3.1 and 4.1. You can find these versions here:

Theoretically, you could just run the installer and test it, but I would recommend that you remove the original rig setting after installation and set it up again.
We will see if we succeed.
