Special Request 7
I haven't responded yet - not quite sure what to make of this. TIm ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Art Seymour <ayseymour@...> Date: Thu, Jun 6, 2019 at 10:05 AM Subject: Special Request To: <tim.ve3uo@...> Good Morning Tim, I am part of a committee here in Cobourg to establish a statue of a female “Sparks” who served at sea in WW2 . She was the only one who did this. She made 98 crossing during the Battle of Atlantic period as Wireless Officer in the Merchant Navy; a tremendous accomplishment , even just getting a Second Class License in those days as women were not accepted into such training, as I understand . Rather than trying to go much into this project via an e-mail, it would be much easier for me if I could perhaps phone you as we are interested in having some participation, from your club. I have a Class 2 Wireless Certificate and a lot of back ground into what she would have done. My number is 905-373-0312 should you wish to call or , if you send your number , I will call you. Just to let you know that we plan to have a “stall” at the upcoming Waterfront Festival in Cobourg on the July 1st week-end for three days and maybe have some demonstration of Morse. I still have my practice key for the 50s and will do a little demo for kids, etc., as part of our fundraising. Our plan to have it dedicated in Oct next year and hope to have some live signals as part of that ceremony. 73s and Cheers Art Seymour.

Heritage Statue Project Fern Blodgett Sunde
More info ... A bit of ‘telephone tag’ with Art Seymour as we have yet to talk person to person. From Cliff’s email it appears that they’re looking for manpower to staff a display over the Canada Day weekend in Cobourg. Tim

Quinte 'QRM' Newsletter - June 2019
FYI .... will also let Field Day participants know ..... Tim ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Don <ve3lyx@...> Date: Sat, Jun 15, 2019 at 2:22 PM Subject: Re: Quinte 'QRM' Newsletter - June 2019 To: Quinte Amateur Radio Club <quinte.arc@...> I was talking to Janice Hubbs , curator of Ameliasburgh Museum. After explaining the Field Day event to her which is held right next door to the museum she said tell the members to have a ID tag on and identify themselves at the museum entrance and it would be worth their effort on the 23 as the museum is holding a strawberry social. She saud she expects to be on the entrance anyway. I also mentioned we would welcome visitors to the Field Day event too so if we have ay extra signage that would be the place to put it. Don

Reminders Sent Out
Hello Executives! I've just sent out a reminder to those club members to haven't yet joined our new 开云体育 to inviting them to do so; and a reminder to all members of our Trunk Sale this week and Field Day next weekend. I separated the email lists so hopefully only those who are not groups.io subscribers got the notice, and everyone got the Trunk Sale & Field Day reminders. Currently there are 32 groups.io members subscribed. 73 Tim VE3UO

Dr George Pugh 3
Hi guys Just saw a short obituary in the Intell for Dr George Pugh. He is the brother of Don Pugh our long ago visitor from Western Australia. If you google Don Pugh you will eventually find a facebook page with a much longer obituary. Peter

I am saddened that Hans is no longer hosting the Exec. Meetings. Yes, It's a drive to Dave's (or any destination in Belleville) for us northerners.. :) Could I recommend a location in Frankford? Exec Meetings 6
Hello Guys, I feel i am missing the communication we had with our exec meetings. I propose we start them again. I am willing to hold them here. For our northern members, coming down Shannonville Rd will allow them to bypass Belleville. For eastern PEC Skyway Bridge may be best. What do y'all think?

Next Executive meeting.. 3
Gents, From what I'm reading, the next meeting is tomorrow (Dec 30) at the Quinte Mall Food Court at 13:30h. I plan on being there unless I'm told otherwise. There is a weather advisory in effect for today and into tomorrow. If it continues, I may not be there. Hope Santa was good to everyone. 73 Chris ------------------------------------------ voice/SMS: 1+705-977-3666 grid: FN14dg QARC www.qarc.on.ca ------------------------------------------ Campbellford,ON Alerts in EffectView Full Forecast Alerts in Effect Freezing Rain Warning

Exec Meeting Mon Dec 30 11
I think the Quinte Mall food court is easiest for everyone to get to, with thanks to Allan for offering his place. Maybe 1 or 1:30, or what would be best ? Allan, if you could bring a cheque for $ 25.00 for the donation to Abbotsford Hospice I would be able to pay it to my credit card. Thanks. Bob
