STATUS of FEB/MAR BW/CLR Regular & Large prints
Hi folks,
?
I've made alot of progress, but I'm not quite ready to take ALL of the prints to the US post office yet.? I've sorted all of the prints and put them in temporary folders/mailers for each recipient.? The regular size prints in USPS mailers for Steve and Otto are ready to go (I just need to create the USPS mailing labels for them).? I will try to get all of the other regular and large size prints in the appropriate mailers/boxes and ready to mail on Monday.
?
Mike -- I will let you know when the box/mailer for your prints is ready for a DHL pickup.

Re: UPDATE on February/March Large and Regular print exchange
Gary, Please send the large format and regular prints in separate shipments, and mark it as a "GIFT" on the cover - the customs here have started whimsically charging duty once in a while on the prints. Please also let me know how much I should remit to you for courier charges. Cheers Jayanand On Tue, Apr 8, 2025 at 9:36?AM Gary via <bensonga=[email protected]> wrote:

UPDATE on February/March Large and Regular print exchange
Good news!? I've now received all of the prints we are going to get.? Mike King's large prints arrived from the UK last Friday.? Nara's very large box with large and regular size prints from himself, Jayanand and Prabhakaran from India arrived today (less than an hour ago).
?
It may take me a few days to get all these prints sorted, packed and mailed back to you, but I promise to get them out ASAP and do it this week for sure.
?
Thanks again to everyone who participated for the time, effort and expense you put into making and sending the prints for the exchange, especially for our annual large print exchange.

SIGN UP is OPEN for the April/May Bi-Monthly print exchanges
If you would like to participate in this bi-monthly print exchange (Letter/A4 size), please respond by email or post to the group.?
Sign-up will close on April 15th.? I will post the final lists on the 16th. ? There are currently EIGHT photographers signed up for the Black & White exchange:
There are currently NINE photographers signed up for the Color print exchange:
Please ship your prints for repackaging to: Gary Benson ? TO SUCCESSFULLY PARTICIPATE PLEASE READ ALL OF THE GUIDELINES BELOW =================================================================== 1) Prints are to be on either Letter (8.5x11) or A4 (8.3"x11.7") size paper. Please sign the print (generally done on the front).? 2) On the 16th of the month you will be notified of how many participants there are for each exchange.? You are to include one print for each of the other participants and one for yourself.? 3) Prints should be enclosed in individual clear sleeves (for example Clear Bags B811SNF) along with a Tech Sheet. Include the date of the exchange, your name, print title and any information about the subject matter, printer, inkset, software, workflow etc on the Tech Sheet which may be of interest to other participants.? Optional: also include your own?critique?of your image.? 4) Make sure that whatever return box or mailing method you use can accommodate both Letter (8.5x11) and A4 (8.3"x11.7") sized prints.??The total number of prints submitted is likely be greater than for the prior monthly print exchanges, so for those participants in the USA a USPS Flat Rate Medium size box is probably the best choice, especially if you are participating in both the B&W and Color print exchanges. ?5) For example, mailing your prints (addressed to the print exchange coordinator) in a USPS Flat Rate envelope or medium size box with an enclosed prepaid USPS Click-n-Ship return LABEL for a Flat Rate envelope or medium size box (addressed to yourself)?should work?very well. ?See this message for additional details?and images of how others have packaged their prints. 6) If you have not included a return postage pre-paid label please send the print exchange coordinator funds for the cost of a USPS Flat Rate envelope or medium size box (whichever you prefer to use) attached to a sheet of paper which?clearly?shows your return address.? 7) Upload a file of the image you have printed into the?correct photo album.? It permits those that are not actively participating in the current exchange an opportunity to observe.? It also creates a historical record that is useful over the years.? 8) Comments on prints are welcome and encouraged, but are not required for participation in a print exchange.? Any topic or theme for a print exchange is entirely optional. With best regards, Gary Benson one of the print exchange moderators |

Reminder that FEB/MAR 2025 Large and Regular Prints are Due Soon
Hi folks,
?
Sorry I didn't post a reminder to the group in mid-March.
?
We are just 5 days away from the 3/31 due date for your prints to arrive here in Alaska.
?
I've already made the prints for myself, Jeff Deam and Otto Bacon.? I've received large/regular prints in the mail from Steve Mustoe, Rob Schwartz and Westley Clavely.?
?
If you haven't already made and mailed your large/regular size prints to me, please do that ASAP.
?
There is a volcano (Mt Spurr) located 80 miles from Anchorage which is now predicted to erupt in the days or weeks to come.? When Mt Spurr erupts the ash clouds will result in cancellations and delays in air flights too and from Anchorage.? Hopefully, your prints will arrive here before the volcano erupts.
