Sunday Offering
Greetings and welcome to another edition of Sunday Offering where I share an obscure and sometimes popular Christian artist. It's almost Spring where I live, all the snow is gone and the temperatures are slowly going up. Thankfully the cold weather does not affect our means of transportation. So last week we went to Vancouver and this week we are heading to Tennessee home of the Grand Ole Opry and probably a lot of Country singers too. We will be taking the Wabac machine back to 1990 and we will pay a visit to a man by the name of Rick Elias as he records his first album. As always the bio is attached for your information. So lets get strapped in and we will head back to 1990. https://www.sendspace.com/file/hqvj19 Virus-free.www.avast.com

Gonks Go Beat OST
Just found out about this movie and was able to find a copy and watch it.. Of all the sixties movies I have seen this one is a little on the weird side. I have attached an imdb link on the movie as well as a discogs link so you can see the track listing. Maybe Chuckles will like this? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059237/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_1_nm_0_in_0_q_gonks%2520go%2520beat https://www.discogs.com/master/1255746-Various-Gonks-Go-Beat-Original-Soundtrack-Recording-From-The-Titan-Film-Production https://www.sendspace.com/file/d74jal

The 1967 Radio Aircheck Show (November)
Here’s Part 8 of the 1967 Radio Aircheck Show (November)! 410 files of music, ads, features, news, etc.; 17 hours, 33 minutes, and 10 seconds of programming, and 15 different airchecks. 965 MBs, all together. Included are five different “album covers” and a PDF of “The Bill of Fare” (below). https://we.tl/t-42dyDKjwtK 1: We begin with one of the great cross-border stations, CKLW, out of Ontario, Canada but also serving greater Detroit. It certainly doesn’t start with a bang or with any hint of what is actually going on with popular music. But there are some good tunes, here, and the able presence of Big Jim Edwards. Also, some fun era-specific ads: Bell Telephone, Suppose Stockings, and the Guess Who singing for Coca-Cola. 2: Getting much hipper (or maybe just plain weird), we head west for San Francisco, station KFRC, and another episode of Allan Pierce’s "The Ever-Changing Transcendental Multilingual Two-Ton Mustard Seed". As with this program’s appearance in the previous section of this show, the sound is occasionally dodgy, but it seems to unusual and yet too much a signal of the era to leave out. At least I was able to cut in better sounding versions of the music. 3: Do you know the way to San Jose? Just follow us south to KLIV! It’s the 5th of November (the previous two airchecks didn’t arrive with information regarding the day, only month and year) and DJ Gary Seder, who spins an excellent if largely middle-of-the-road set sprinkled with some less well-known recordings and even a couple of I hadn’t heard before thrown in. At 2 hours and 45 minutes (or just under), I think this is the longest section in this part of the show. A good song to ad ratio. I get a kick out of the “Housewives Club”. An artifact of the times. 4: Well, we head back to Frisco, this time listening in on KYA and Sean Callaghan. More pop classic radio for a 48-minute set. Heavier on the ads. It’s still November 5th. 5: More from the same day. 375 miles south of San Francisco, we have another terrific “hip” program helmed by Brit journalist, publicist, and music producer Derek Taylor. I love Taylor’s laidback, philosophical demeanor. And his British accent makes me imagine that I’m hearing from fabled Carnaby Street. Lots of Beatles, along with a fairly on the edge of pop setlist. He starts and finishes with Procol Harum, so I’m on board. 6: Next up, we jump ahead four days and wing west to Minnesota, KUXL, and “Admiral” Richard E.. We’re square in the pop-middle, now, with almost an ad between each song. But some of the ads are somewhat “handmade”, touting local businesses, so they’re extra-interesting. Any folks from the Golden Valley region who remember these record shops? 7: It is still the 9th, as we head south to St. Louis, next, at radio KOXK with DJs Ray Otis and Keith Norris. A couple of less well-known recordings, but mostly famous tunes, rom the Monkees to Vikki Carr. 2 hours and 11 minutes of 1967 goodness! And who doesn’t want to hear an ad for Associated Grocer’s Tiny Hole Irish Canned Potatoes? ? The Masked Nostalgist makes a brief appearance... 8: It’s the next day and back we go to Canada; this time Toronto’s KCFH. The station originally covered what we might now call “Adult Contemporary” music, but change was in the air, as can be heard on this show hosted by Tom Fulton. There are two or three recordings that I hadn’t heard before; perhaps songs that broke into the charts in Canada but not the US. An hour and a quarter that kicks off with one of my favorite songs. 9: Okay, folks! Finally, we dive into the realm of cutting-edge rock for an hour of the great Rosko on WNEW! A couple of canonized tunes, but mostly less renown cuts from the likes of Moby Grape, The Doors, and Dylan, ending up with a bit of back and forth between The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. I’m hoping, with the advent of alternate FM radio, we’ll have more of this sort of thing as we cruise toward the end of 1967. This is from November 13th. 10: Now for almost an hour of the internationally broadcast Armed Forces Radio and Television Service. No specific date

Sunday Offering
Greetings and welcome to another edition of Sunday Offering, where I share an obscure and sometimes popular Christian artist. So last week we paid a visit to Nashville and saw a group of guys calling themselves "Plaid" and watched as they recorded their album. Today we will pay a visit to these guys again (this time circa 2000) who are now calling themselves "Downpour" and watch as they record an album under their newname. I have included a link from a site called "Crossrythms" that has an interview with the guys. So get yourselves strapped in and we will head back to 2000. https://www.crossrhythms.co.uk/articles/music/Downpour_The_techno_rock_band_from_Vancouver/41771/p1/ https://www.sendspace.com/file/alop19 Virus-free.www.avast.com
