troubles with 80 EFHW
I built a balun for an 80m end-fed half wave. It doesn't seen to be working properly so I'm looking for some advice as to what might be wrong. I put a 3k resistor across the antenna and ground terminals and used my nanoVNA to have a look. The first pic is my test setup. The second is the VNA sweep. I think it should be more flat. Any comments? 73 Jim. -- The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. William A. Ward

I bought a QRP-Labs dummy load kit in Dayton and recently put it together. Here's a pic with a 3D printed "case" that give lots of ventilation.. -- The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. William A. Ward

DS1 antenna project

A warm welcome to all! Regarding parts, I can confirm that the 3/4 copper pipe cap and 3/4 PEX plug are available at Home Hardware. I paid $1.39 and $2.29 respectively. I also got a 10-pack of #8 SS toothed washers so if you need a pair, speak up. I'll check for some of the other SS hardware at Home Depot today or tomorrow. I will share whatever packs I buy. 73, Jim VE3LMK -- The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. William A. Ward

Here is a picture of the antenna with the 2 coils attached in the test jig. I did change one thing in the design - I used 8-32 1/2" SS throughout. This included the telescopic antenna. I re-drilled and tapped it for 8-32. Heatshrink left to do. /ODR
