Super Sizing Your Solar Setup - redux

 

Good afternoon everyone,

I was invited by the Youtube channel "The Astro Imaging Channel" to give a talk next Sunday evening (March 30th).? I plan to re-present my RASC talk from November on "Super Sizing Your Solar Setup", with a new section added on the end all about the Spectroheliograph.? If you are interested in participating in the livestream you can use the link below.? The livestream starts at 9:30pm EDT.? After that the same link can be used to watch the broadcast back whenever you like.

Hi Jim,

I just saw your presentation on YouTube, it was great.? I love solar observing, but I'm just new to imaging.? I really liked the section on the Sol'Ex.? I was following with interest the development of the Sol'Ex by MLAstro and was thinking of eventually dabbling into amateur spectroscopy with the Star'Ex version of the hardware; however, right now my mount is not up to the task and I still have quite a ways to go with regards to using the many software platforms for astrophotography.

I am glad you liked my presentation.? I am having a lot of fun with the SHG700, but haven't had a lot of clear skies to use it.? I hope things clear up soon!? By the way, if you ever do purchase one of MLAstro's products, the owner Minh has been great; very helpful and generous with his time.
