Are people still attending these online Gabfests?? I am too busy in the summertime to participate but the meeting can run without me ... I think.? What is the level of interest in moving to in-person meetings?? I am getting absolutely no feedback from the group on this, so I am wondering if the Gabfests are dead or not.

August 19th public Star Gazing event at the Carp library.
Good morning
This Friday August 19th is our next scheduled? RASC Star gazing event at the Carp library parking lot. Although it is a RASC event, anyone may attend and set up a telescope to share telescopic views ( including non-RASC members) and all members of the public are welcome.
?
As of today the weather looks good but the final go-no go will be made here, in the Meet up group and on the Facebook page.
?
If you may be willing to attend please send me a quick email so I know someone will be there!?
Also I found this interesting video on how to be a good outreach volunteer by Adam Block and it may interest some of you.

Public Star Party in Carp
?I am pleased to announce that the RASC- Ottawa Public Stargazing event tonight July 2nd 9:30- 11:30 pm is a GO. Come one, come all. You do not need to be an RASC member to attend or set up a scope.

Sorry.... I missed the gabfest as well. ?It's been a busy past number of days with home projects. ?I'd really love to get back into in-person gabfests, just like the old days. ?Although I live in Orleans, I don't mind the Walkley road location if it is easier and a little more central to most. ?There is also a Harvey's close by for supper before going to Tim's.

First : glad to hear that Tristan is landing on his feet. He was the main-stay of Focus Scientific and I could always depend on him.
Second : Great news for all of us in the Ottawa area that he is offering tech service for scopes.?

I think Denis was mentioning a Tim's with outdoor seating but I do not know of one close by.? I would consider moving the virtual meeting to in person at Tim's on Innes Rd (the one we previously used).? However, I am open to other suggestions.
I may tune in to your presentation tonight just as a refresher.
