I was just wondering if anyone is planning to meet up somewhere for the solar eclipse. Sorry I have to ask in advance just thought I’d want to plan it with others ?

I guess that depends on what sort of 12yo you have.? A typical monthly RASC meeting runs from 7:30pm to about 9:30 or 10:00pm.? There are a number of different people who present on various astronomy related topics like: what will be in the sky this month, sharing pictures captured over the past month, how-to type talks, or more science or science-history based talks.? You can watch recordings of past meetings on Youtube to get an idea of what to expect.



If your 12yo is interested in science, and likes watching Discovery Channel type shows, they may enjoy our meetings.

For those interested, Simon is presenting a talk on Mercury at this month's RASC meeting.? Attendance is free to all, although if you attend in person at the Canadian Museum of Aviation & Space, you will need to pay for parking.? You can also attend online, just pre-register using the link below.? Meeting starts at 7:30pm this Friday, March 1st.



I will also be presenting a little something on Friday, but that is not important.? :)

I'm planning for the eclipse on April 8th, and was wondering if anyone has a reputable source for eclipse viewing glasses in the city. It strikes me as the kind of thing you shouldn't buy the cheapest version of off of Amazon, you know?

For those interested in solar observing, I am giving a presentation at the RASC monthly meeting this Friday on sunspots.? You can attend in person at the Canadian Museum of Aviation & Space (starts at 7:30pm), or you can watch online by registering at the link below.? The meeting is open to all, not just RASC members, and admission is free although there is a parking fee if you park at the museum.
