¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThank you to all our volunteers last night.? I was so happy to have folks with telescope as well as folks without? telescopes who were able to help all of our new astronomers. It was a piece that we may have fallen short on in earlier events and this time I had dedicated people that I was able to call upon to support the newcomers arriving with their new scopes. Which was perfect! ? My teenage assistants have noted on more than one occasion that this event is just such a positive experience. People arrive in great spirits,? and are? genuinely thrilled? to view and learn more about the night sky.??? ? It? wasn¡¯t quite as busy as August but I would say it was close, and the flow of people lasted much longer, from 7:00 ¨C 11:00 pm. Considering the late breaking high cloud that developed I still can¡¯t believe we had around? 300 or so people. We ran out of? every single handout and 150 star finders (and? we only gave? out 1-2 per family). I am so happy though that we had our bright planets , Saturn and Jupiter? appearing all evening? slipping in and out of the clouds. ? That wraps up this years¡¯ ?RASC Public Stargazing program for 2022.? We actually had ( mostly) clear skies on all 4 scheduled events. Thank you all again for all your help and dedication to these important outreach events. ? Please let me know if there are any sidewalk evening planned in October. ? ?
