Martinhoe Cross needs a new home
开云体育Back in 2017 I acquired from Nick Brown his 14mm gauge 7mm scale model called Martinhoe Cross representing an impression of the L&B railway.??I had plans to incorporate it into my model of Lynton but those plans have had to change.??It has been in safe and secure dry storage and I now need to free up that space. ? I am looking for a new home for the layout and it will be free to anyone who is able to collect it – a large transit will be required.??The model can be seen in edition 168 of the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association magazine.??It is a looped circuit and fits into a space of 7 feet x 6 feet.??It comes on a number of baseboards (but not supports) and all the track, scenery, buildings, bridges and wiring are in place.??There are no as these were retained by Nick when I took possession. ? Please, only serious interest, it needs to go to a good home for someone, or a club, who will use it as intended or develop it further.??Message me and I can supply details and answer any questions. ? Thanks, Cliff |

开云体育Good luck Cliff, I’m not interested but I am curious about the gauge.? I recall thinking when I read the Narrow Lines article that the gauge wasn’t very clear.? I think Nick started off with grand plans for 14mm gauge but then opted for something simpler to fit the available space by using Peco track.? However it wasn’t clear if he meant 016.5 track or used Peco track components to build his own 014 track. ? I remember being impressed with the pictures and article. It will make a fine layout for anyone with the space. ? Cheers, ? Robin ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]

开云体育Thanks very much Cliff.? I actually dug out the article and it was as good as I remembered.? I am very grateful that you clarified the gauge as I don’t think it is very clear from the text and it would have been ‘bugging’ me! ? It’s a shame I haven’t got the space otherwise I would be very tempted. ? I hope it goes to a good home. ? Cheers, Robin ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]

开云体育? I do not think that this would find the best home with the L&B Trust which already has at least one layout Barnstaple Town in 4mm which is stored in someone’s house for eventual display as it is a scale model of a station that will never be reopened. ?If accepted, this layout would similarly remain in store for a considerable time and deserves a better outcome. ? I am making enquiries in my own club but do not hold out much hope as space again is at a premium. ? Tony S. ? Tony Spencer Club Archivist and 7mm Section rep. Ilford & West Essex MRC 07730 420283

开云体育Tony - I fully agree with your comment. ?I do not wish to add another project to those working hard to deliver the restoration of the L&B. ?I am offering this layout to some one (or some group) who really wants it and can use it as intended.Regards, Cliff
