Lionheart 7mm rtr L&B Locos announced
Hi All,
Lionheart have given me the following info for a product announcement in the next Review: The chassis will be compensated and feature prototypically working Joy valve gear . It is designed for 16·5mm gauge and 2ft radius curves, but will accept wheels with a back-to back of 12·5mm for 14mm trackwork which is conformant? with? O14? group? standards .? They are currently looking at providing an accessory package to include correctly gauged wheels for easy? conversion . This is great news.? John |
开云体育? ? That’s great news, I’m all for things being made easier.? Trouble is now I need to decide on do I do the next (and last big layout) as GVT in 016.5 or something in 014! ? Cheers, ? Robin ? Hi All, _._,_._,_ |

Well really it should be 16.625mm. Even if you use 16.5mm the flangeways and back-to-back should be finer scale. Or you could mimic one of the two society's and use 17.5mm gauge. Only joking John |
开云体育I’m pleased that you are only joking!? I was going to ask if your track gauge was 13.608mm but that would be ridiculous!? ? Chuckling, Robin ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]

Keep in mind fella's, I was speaking to David from Slater's last year, he was telling me about the new wheels they're doing for both the M/W and the Baldwin these are specially made for these loco's at 2'9" dia. with the option of either 10 spoke or 8 spoke these wheels screw onto the axles on a thread and the axles come with the crank arm as well the ends of the axles have a square boss for quartering the cranks and are available for O14 or 16.5mm. gauge. ------ Original Message ------

开云体育Is there anyone who has built the Slaters L&B Lyn yet - I would be interested in any feed back. Cliff

I'm not sure what may have been the practice in the UK, but from memory the 2ft gauge suagr railways here in Qld Australia,? have the rails set at 24" gauge on straights and 24?" on curves and the cane bin wheels are set to 595mm. and the loco wheels to 590mm. if my memory is correct.

开云体育Ditto please - have just received one:Resin body Etched chassis Motor gearbox supplied (their replacement for the much lamented Portescap RG7)needs to be disassembled to enable it to be fitted…. 开云体育Hi All,
This is good news and one that caters for both those who will want to run their locos straight out of the box and also those who want to run on finescale O14. On Thursday night’s 7mmNGA Trent Valley Zoom we discussed these locos and it was said that with the design of the stub axles and the wording of the announcement it looked like Lionheart probably had a cunning plan up their sleeve for catering for both gauges. Those modelling to 14mm gauge being the more willing to carry out modifications than some of the 16.5mm gauge market.? All good news and not overly surprising.? Andrew? |

I knew I was going wrong somewhere, Andrew ...
I've been somewhat spoiled by RTR O14 chassis (Wrightlines and rpi) and a friend who makes rather good track.

开云体育Lots of small achievable projects, which may have a theme, and which may link up is my approach.?Having a progressive chronic disease with no available treatment does wonders in bringing everything into perspective. ? best regards Stay safe Stay sane Kelvin On 3 Oct 2021, at 12:03, Paul Holmes <heatonwood@...> wrote:

John, if Robin built a GVT layout, you could re-gauge the GVT vans that run on your layout to their correct gauge…. Though seeing as you’re both happy to run non-2ft gauge prototypes on your O14 layouts, could just opt for O-16.5 and be done with it, I believe Peco will sell you some suitable track ;o)My GVT wagons were an early acquisition before I finalised the 'proper' PLR history. I think I got rid of them, or will do if I find them in the packing cases. John |
开云体育Lionheart will be 'heartened' to see the amount of e-mails this has generated, then disillusioned when they realise ?that only about half a dozen folk are actually showing interest! ? No-one on the 7mm facebook seems to have mentioned them. ? Frank ? _._,_._,_ |
开云体育Having a mixture of small(ish) projects is no bad thing. I divide my modelling time between 014 for “building” trains, and Canadian N scale for “running” trains. Achieving a completed layout in either scale thus takes much longer, and space constraints are that much the greater, but I do find that the sheer variety of modelling skills and prototype research needed is very satisfying. On 3 Oct 2021, at 15:53, Kelvin White <kelvin.torteval@...> wrote:
