7mm Scale Track Components

Thinking about 7mm scale track components for a 3ft narrow gauge project and after a wee look through the www I had a ding moment, S Scale standard gauge track components which I was happy to see would probably suit us.

Unfortunately the S Scale Society only sell parts to their membership, I don't suppose we have a member of the S Scale Society on this forum, preferably but not essential who lives in Scotland willing to order some parts for me?

David,?
I used S scale rail and chairs for my Dinas layout and have been a member on and off since helping to build the MRC Thame layout back in the 70s. Currently I am not a member. Back when Dinas was built it was whitemetal chairs and bullhead rail code 90. It’s now code 87 and plastic chairs which should be just as effective. I could beg a favour of a friend who is a member but first suggest we see if anyone else here is an active member. Or pay up ?25 and join. The gazette has some useful articles with some ideas that are certainly ‘lateral thinking’ when compared with mainstream 4 and 7mm modelling.?

good luck

Paul?

Are you looking for chaired track? - rather uncommon on NG lines?

However I’m a member of the SSMRS- former secretary. But I’m down in Buckinghamshire.

For flat bottom rail, I suggest Kalgarren rail which is correct section with the height equaling the width.

Are you aware of O-21 Facebook group. Where you find myself, Keith Fothergill and Toby Jones who is doing some magnificent modelling of the North Devon & Dorset clay lines.

Hi Kelvin,

As you probably know I'm died-in-the-wool O14 but I'm always interested in other gauges and North Devon clay (and professionally so with the Review). However, I couldn't find the group - probably me being useless with FB.? Can you post a link?

Search O 21mm gauge Railway Models

It’s a small group, Toby Jones work is stunning, and should be in the review.

No one has mentioned Kalgarin who produces L&B specific track. Maybe Richard can help.

Thanks, I’ve found it and asked to join.
