Figures for Kevin Hughes' WDLR layout
Kevin Hughes' WDLR layout in NG&I #110 is very nicely executed. One item that I don't see covered is the source(s) for the figures he's used. I've reread the article a few times looking. I don't know if Kevin is on this group. If he is, can you share the sources? If not, does anyone else know? Thanks, Dave Eggleston Seattle, Washington |

开云体育I’m after some WW1 soldiers, so I sent him an email this morning. He called
straight back and a list is in the post this evening.

David, Its not mysterious, it is just a bit old fashioned and, I acknowledge, jolly frustrating for those who have little or no chance of ever seeing Phil's very well-presented stand at the selected shows he attends. Phil professes not to have the time to do all his 'normal' work AND deal with putting a huge range of items on to the web and then dealing with all the updates as he is so prolific. It is his choice and he certainly seems not to NEED web sales or presence as he is as busy as he wants to be without. Adrian |
Hello everyone,
Yes I am on this group although Yahoo plays very strange games on my computer so don't get to access it that often. Yes, a lot of the figures are PLM and they are quite frustrating for even me to get hold of and I live only 15 miles from Phil! There is a new list available that condenses all the various updates over the years - not sure what the etiquette would be on scanning this and making it more widely available although Tim seems to have had no problem getting one direct from Tim. There are various other sources of figures used however although not specifically meant for WW1. I have used WW2 air raid wardens and postmen from Phoenix and Diesel drivers from Dart castings. Heros of the Footplate is another good source of drivers. Figures for this particular flavour of modelling? is a real problem and two things that I would love to be able to do? is to have brakesmen on the wagons and some wagon loads of men as there are plenty of pictures showing this. There have been conversations with like minded individuals to try and persuade someone with a full size laser scanner to visit a reenactment possibly up at Apedale to get some suitable poses scanned in but nothing has come of it as yet - does anyone have the enthusiasm / connections to get this moving? Kevin. ? |
Gentlemen, I have just scanned and uploaded the 2017 Catalogue and Price List for PLM Castaways WW1 figures and accessories, as promised a while ago. It is a pdf in the Files section. It is a long list, so there should be something for nearly everyone. I can attest to the quality and character of the castings from close personal observation, though I haven't bought any of this range as I am not modelling WW1 railways. Regards, Adrian |
开云体育Thanks for this.? I do recall seeing somewhere photos of the figures PLM makes.? Does anyone have the same recollection and can point me in the right direction?
