I'm not sure what may have been the practice in the UK, but from memory the 2ft gauge suagr railways here in Qld Australia, have the rails set at 24" gauge on straights and 24?" on curves and the

I guess that’s why my middle name is ‘Approx’. Now laughing loudly. That’s actually under gauge! I nearly built Dinas correctly at 1’ 11 1/2” which is actually 597mm / 43.5 = 13.724mm.

I have decided that I will never build ‘that last great layout’. It brings on an auto reply to the grim reaper. David Jenkinson and Roy Jackson both embarked on their last great projects. Neither

I’m pleased that you are only joking! I was going to ask if your track gauge was 13.608mm but that would be ridiculous! Chuckling, Robin Sent: 03 October 2021 09:21 To: [email protected] Subject: Re:

Re: Lionheart 7mm rtr L&B Locos announced
Well really it should be 16.625mm. Even if you use 16.5mm the flangeways and back-to-back should be finer scale. Or you could mimic one of the two society's and use 17.5mm gauge. Only joking John

I agree, but you miss my point. I'm not talking about how easy or enjoyable it is for an individual to make track. I'm talking about getting the underlying basis of a new RTR scale correct before
