Re: Quarry Hunslet Book Second Edition
Andrew,
Thanks, but I already have these.
To explain,
Tryfan was built in 1902. It had a low cab to work tunnels at Moel Tryfan quarry. It had a cab roof as a full half circle rising from

Keith,
There is! I'd looked at the rear of the book where the text refers to the NWNGR, never occurred to look at the front where the text is about the embankment railway. Neither is a 'good'

Thanks David. There is a photo of an inbuilt alphagrafix kit online that I have seen. This does look like a longer version to very similar design so I shall probably get a kit and either use

Re: Quarry Hunslet Book Second Edition
Frank,
I’ve just had a quick look at the second edition of Quarry Hunslets of North Wales and the entries for Tryfan and Cadfan just have Hunslet official photos (one each).
However, if you reach

I have an idea that in the dim and distant past, making allowances for aged memory, Peco marketed one. The parts looked at first glance as though they were vac formed plastic but were

Quarry Hunslet Book Second Edition
Please does anyone have Cliff Thomas's Quarry Hunslet book second edition, 2004 I think? I'm told that it contains a 'poor head on' picture of the two locos with low cabs at Moel Tryfan / Alexandra /

Re: 14mm Roller Gauges wanted
Roger,
If not brass, then presumably some sort of plastic? Will the flangeway guides be strong enough, will you want to solder near it?

Re: 14mm Roller Gauges wanted
Mike,
As 14mm gauge standards are effectively narrowed EM then buy C&L EM gauges. Unless they've changed, the 'gauge' is a piece of tubing, the check rail spacing is 'washers' all held on a bolt.

Thanks George. It does look very similar but is not as long with fewer panels. I suspect the Hulme End one might be a 6 wheeler and theirs four maybe. I can’t see why a North London van should end
